The bodies, higher sidewall tires, and mud flaps... yes, 1/10 scale SCTs have always appealed to me, 'cause of the scale/likeness of the full size racing vehicles. But nowadays, the mud flaps have pretty much disappeared on all but some of the RTRs out there. Bring back the mud flaps I say! I'll never have one, but the Axis SC body released by Pro-Line is about as "futuristic" as I can take when it comes to looks.

Yeah, they're cool on a SCT. Should be required. Made my own when my Senton 2WD was first built as a SCT. Used thin cutting board stock from a dollar store and secured them in place with 3/8" nylon clamps. Snug, but still able to deflect when needed. Still have them on the Senton in buggy form. I see Fierce RC has the SL back in stock again... uh, scratch that... had them. Out of stock today. What the heck! In stock for a couple days and... poof. Somebody is grabbing them.

@RustyUs. Body is ARRMA Part# 402313. Body is big as a bucket. Took 4 cans of rattle can Tamiya for the Metallic Blue and 2 cans of silver to back it up. Whew! Haven't stickered it yet. Storing it up in the attic.

But then I'm an open wheel buggy guy not used to painting such a large body. Masked off the rear window/vent to leave it clear for 'rear vision' rally application it was intended for. Thanks for asking. -AC

Well after doing some research I realized they moved on to 4 pole motors not just because of technology advancements but because most people run sct on much larger tracks now. From my experience 2 pole motors would put less stress on the esc than 4 pole when geared properly and proper cooling. You can use a 2 pole 550 motor with a 10th scale rated esc and be fine. But you can't run a 4 pole motor on a 10th scale esc (unless you are running a 540) so that's why I see most people use 8th scale race or heavy duty 10th scale escs like the hobbywing 140a. 2 pole were a thing back then because they were smoother, for the people running on tighter tracks. Just bringing this up since racing SCT on carpet was super fun but most people now don't allow the use to run it. Except 2wd, those are fine but why not 4x4? The racing world is too competitive now and we aren't allowed to have actual fun. Just my opinion.

Not that every track is the same, nor is the motor rules, I just wondered since the SCT 4x4 550 rules (ROAR) were changed to allow 4-pole motors... what "everyone" is running in their heavy 4x4 SCTs anyway. Rules, rules, rules.

Yeah, it takes a lot of grunt to move a SCT body and chassis over the ground and through the air. 4WD even more than 2WD. For that reason, I'm partial to using a 4-pole sensorless. Have 3 of them now with a 4th in the mail. Even with a 540 can on 2s, torque is ample for my 2WD ST's and buggy-bodied SCT. -AC

I just ordered my very first tekno. I don't think I've even driven one but they are hugely popular at my track. Ordered the SCT410 SL for mostly indoor off road.

Just got done with my build last night. Unfortunately I didn't have a pinion gear. I thought I had one but installed it and went to turn the center diff to check for smooth ess and it bound up. I'm not sure what pitch the pinion I threw on is, maybe mod1? Anyways, I took it off, no damage done only spun with my fingers. I had a minor issue getting the rear body post hitting the rear shocks so I flipped the body post to the rear of the shock tower. Works fine and amazingly a stock slash body fits perfectly without making new body post holes

Won't be using those wheels and tires in the pics as they have way too much offset. The recommended 13.5 offset wheels fit under the slash body almost like factory

Where you place the shocks is just a tuning option. It doesn't say anywhere in the manual about optional parts to do such a thing. During the ET410 days, people were modding the rear end to match the EB410.2 shock placement for better rotation. It just became common practice and poof... out came the ET410.2

I run my RCs on a rough/bumpy backyard track. My setups are always different than what's in Tekno's manuals. Softer shock packages, higher ride heights, thinner diff fluids, and softer anti sway bars (I usually run without them) on all my rides.

The senton body goes right on the posts but the fitment doesn't look good.
