Tekno RC SCT410SL 1/10th 4WD Lightweight Short Course Truck

I'm sure most would agree, once a rod end/ball cup pops off, replace it... piece of mind... well, especially when battling others is concerned. I never really had any trouble with Tekno's rod ends. I don't remember if was mentioned in this thread, or not, but people like to use the Associated B6 rod ends as a better alternative.
Interesting, I had never heard of them being an issue. Probably seen dozens of teknos crash and honestly I think I have experienced more breaks than I've witnessed.

The B6 ball joints are impressive! It was one of the furst things that stood out to me about the car actually. (shocks too) I have no experience with Tekno to compare though. 👍
 
Any tips on how to adjust the truck or my driving style to get rid of donkey kick? Double on my track is kicking my ass because I can't hit it consistently. Almost always have bad donkey kick. Going to check my esc and make sure I don't have drag brake. My usual method for jumps is get up to speed and then lower the throttle as I hit the face then give it some throttle if it's butts up to bring it down but it's not working for me today.

Well, I've read a lot of the popular 4wd SCT threads/posts out there. Just about every single one has the same question and answers. Like you, I know approach has a lot to do with it. With my SCT410 2.0 it's even more of a handful if I miscalculate approach and the rear end's upwards momentum gets the best of things.

With the SCT410SL being a bit lighter... less worries? Maybe it's in my head. I don't have huge run ups on approaches of jumps. Making sure I'm not at full throttle when I hit the jumps is the number one priority or I can almost guarantee a wrong flight angle... that's with all my rides.

What does your shock package consist of?

@RetroThutmose, maybe grab a piece of spare Lexan, and go to town. Probably works better in certain conditions. Worth a try. Right?

I'm running pretty much box stock setup. Raised my rear end a bit in testing but it didn't help. Wondering if I need to adjust the way I drive. I can nail it every time with my 2wd sc6.2.

I'd try reducing the rear droop, and increasing the front droop a bit with the drag brake turned off to combat nose diving. Arm sweep, weights, anti-squat... people have done all kinds of whacky-ness. Determine if rear chassis is touching at take-off.

Wait what, this goes on the rear?!?! Worth trying out I guess. Have plenty of lexan laying around. Really curious how they developed this. In my head I'm thinking this would never work. Or, will only work with a very specific body. But I am a man of little intelligence with zero understanding of airflow.

Today was race day. I learned everyone was having trouble with that jump. Most guys just took the slow way through and remained consistent. I should have done that too but after a couple bad laps I just started sending it every lap. In the end wasn't worth the risk and I went from starting second, moving up to first, then piling up mistakes and ended up 4th

My SC6.2 did a lot better. Love the way that thing drives and flies, just a big ass B6.2 with a parachute.
 
Now, if I were at Tekno RC and had an optional part for a RC, I would show a picture of installed item on item's description page. I'm pretty sure the spoiler was meant to be mounted on the front of the bumper...

I would think it would depend on where the air is hitting it from. It is going through the body and hitting that wing and pushing the rear downward? If so, what features are directing the air to it? Because it would seem to me that not much air is actually hitting it from this direction, but I don't have one of these trucks to know for sure.

Or is it making the air coming from under the chassis not have as much turbulence as it exits the rear of the chassis? Which might help keep the rear down by forcing it to flow up at an angle as it exits the rear, creating a vacuum under the rear of the RC.
 
I've only seen one person post a spoiler being used. They never got back with results. Meh, too many people concerned about beefing up the rear bumper modifying the SCT410.3's to fit the SL I guess.
Yeah, I don't see that doing much, regardless of which side of the bumper it's mounted on.

i dont think it's going to make much difference either way. I'll try it both ways but my design having more surface area probably makes more of an impact than which side its mounted to.
 
When I was racing Sunday one of the newer guys asked me to help him setup his 4wd slash. I said sure, come check mine out. First step, buy a tekno! As I lifted the body shell off 😆

As much as I love my SCT410SL platforms, I'd totally buy a Slash 4x4 to play with. To make that happen, that company needs to make a legitimate Slash 4x4 kit and not a ready to assemble ready to run kit.

Prob best to build from parts at this point. You'd have your 'kit' customized to your liking at a lower price I'll bet. 😎
