That is the plan. I spoke to the RC shop I bought them from, but not able to sort it all out yet due to the holiday period. They are calling me back on Monday. Funny enough, it seems they have an old T5M shock kit for the front shocks, on their website. Can't find the rear kit anywhere though... Will just have to buy the rears piece by piece. It's either that or spending a bit more on the 13mm T6.4 shock kits.

Will speak to Centro as well, and guilt them into cosigning the refund through my local shop.
 
So, after a bit of back and forth with the Centro guys, they agreed with what I found and cosigned the refund. My local shop managed to find an RC10T5M front shock kit they still had in stock #91497. So I took that and will just have to piece together the rears over time.

Saying that though, I noticed the rear 12mm springs were brushing up against the rear turnbuckle. I'm presuming I will run into the same problem with AE 12mm rear shocks, as I haven't changed out the rear hubs to the FT T4.2 hubs. Would it be a bit silly to run the 12mm big bores on the front, and the old 1.39" RTR shocks on the rear? Otherwise I may need to find the T4.2 rear hubs as well.

What shock stand-offs are you using?

AE has a guide about swapping to longer stand-offs when going to the v2 shocks in the 4 series. There are pics further back in this thread.

If using stock 0° hubs, my workaround was to swap the left & right hubs so the ball studs would face the rear to give extra clearance....

So this should be a good option for replacements. Apparently a lot of the old oval stuff is based on t3 and T4 stuff

Dangit this part isn't an exact fit. can't get the transmission all the way closed. If I only had a track-side lathe!

So my buddy with a t3 says his original trans got messed up after decade + of use and abuse and he replaced it with a custom works transmission case.

I think this is the case he's running. I think the T4 trans has more of a bend in the alignment of the gears. But I thought this was pretty interesting as they have CV options and puck-style out drives like MIP's puck system. That's what I was trying to make work at the track but I'm going to keep the parts and see if we can mill down the bearing face and make it work.

I had an idea one time. More like a very short 10 second thought 🤔 :p😁 T4/SC10 "4 series" tranny case on the left, Pro2 SC10 "5 series" tranny case on the right...

Although very similar, just too much jerry riggin'/moddin' to make something that would maybe KIND OF work. I have yet to see a tranny transplant of any kind for the B4/T4/SC10 platforms.

It's not my truck. I asked the question and got this...
they are Integy SB10 knuckles. I went back to the 9880 plastic knuckles. I didn’t like the binding they were causing when using aluminum caster blocks .
The C blocks are Hot racing 30 degree SC10, GT2, I also got those on eBay.

Got to race my T4 at the big vintage event. It was really fun. I had a couple of minor things happen, like throwing a dog bone and maybe one ball cup popped off. But after tightening up my driving it went really well. i wasn't on leader pace for sure but i'm way more a novice at off-road than most of the drivers. I was impressed with my T4 and how it handled the abuse i gave it during qualifying and the mains. If i can get my consistency up in off-road i can hang with the faster paced crews but that will take more time. I also got to race it again last night as a kind of farewell club race for the track setup as it will be torn down today to go back to half off-road half-oval setup. with fewer people and far less pressure i did a bit better but had too many mistakes in the main event while others didn't make the mistakes they made in qualifying. I did have the fastest lap in the main so that's promising.

I need to do more off-road events but something about the off-road club races just doesn't seem as fun as the oval races. i think it's the people. They seem way more serious at the off-road events than the oval races i typically do. Oval races you kind of get clowned if you take it too seriously while the off-road guys everyone seems to be taking it too seriously. There's a small group of off road that are more laid back but they seem to be the exception. I guess i just need to make better friends with them :) I also ran my tekno SCT-SL and was having a really great night until my rear diff blew up for some reason just as the main started. I was fighting for first and then i was just getting slower and slower and then i realized i only had front wheel drive, AGAIN! same thing happened last time i raced my tekno, but last time i broke the rear diff case. I haven't had a chance to look into it yet.
