Time-Capsule Kyosho Outlaw Ultima (1990), complete w/ bag & paperwork!

Picked up a 1990 Kyosho Outlaw Ultima Truck (kit 3166). Looks barely used that arrived today! With original Bridgestone Sand Super tires, white wheels, Le Mans 34T motor, Kyosho Pulsar AM radio, Hobico AC/DC charger (and nicad), manuals, original Pulsar Radio, rx, servos, and the red Kyosho carry bag.

I’ll run modern SC wheels/tires to preserve the originals. Any setup tips for the shocks/slipper on these, if I decide to run it?

Damn thats an awesome find!

Pretty sure id have a very hard time running that one. Maybe just the occasional light run.
Thats an awesome price also. Those tend to bring much more in that sorta condition.

Thats really nice! . I'd recommend putting that body away for the shelf and buying a replacement before running.
If those tires are still good... don't run them!

Buy another set like you mentioned.
I can't really say much on shoci and slipper setting. I never owned a purty truck flavored Kyosho.
I usually run light oil in my shocks. I put 400 in the front of my Optima and I think its too much.

I am not sure which style slipper this truck runs. Any chance we could get a pic of the spur?

As far as resale goes, I believe the truck is sort of rare. If it all works, runs and is super clean, $350 with the gear and the bag is a good deal for the next buyer too!

Its all in who wants it and how badly.

I've seen them sell between 350 and 450 pretty commonly in mint condition with the fixin's.

The thing about a vintage rc like that is that there are only so many mint ones left out there. You find the right buyer that wants one they tend to pay whatever it takes to get it..
Kind of an ugly side of the hobby but so is life when it comes to supply and demand.

I see Optima Mids on Ebay for almost $2k sometimes. Given, rare, vintage, perfect but $2k???!!! Not me guy!

There must be someone buying them!

Thanks very much you guys, appreciate all the feedback and links/suggestions! I can take a pic of the spur gear tomorrow as I'm going to go through it a bit more in the next few days, I just have way too many projects all of a sudden lol.

And yep, it has the kyosho red carry bag from the 90s, the orginal Pulsar Kyosho radio, the original nicad, and everything really but the box.
