These race grade cars are outfitted pretty nicely from the factory. On my 74.1 AE, the ONLY upgrade I have on it is a aluminum front tower. Only because from years ago when I didn't drive the best I kept snapping the CF towers. But that's on me, not AE.
good to know I'm not the only one with a skills problem :stick: :hehe:

Buy used

I'm about 550 ish bucks in my 22 5.0 currently.

Kit new is only 430 bucks. Seems normal for a race grade stadium truck compared to other brands ie Losi, X-ray, ect. ??

Plus most racers already have electronics on hand like batteries and radios and servos. So that price of 1.1k might be only like 600 or so total for a average hobbyist/racer. On my 22 build I don't include my radio, Rx, and battery price bc I carried those over from my other car/share between cars. If we talking from a newbie standpoint, that has absolutely nothing, technically they don't need the best of the best electronics, they can get lower level/budget stuff to bring that price down, by alot.

Not sure how we came up with the 8.5 hex thing. Most if not all 1/10 cars these days has 12mm hex. Unless I missed something, 8.5 is the width of the hex/track width.

When you get started into racing your automatically sucked into it, for most people including myself and most of us racers don't even complain about prices anymore. Bc track fees add up a WHOLE lot more than 1.1k. lol.
If we complaining about a 2 wheel stadium truck look at the prices of 1/8 _uggy kits. Or 1/5 gasser racing. Or onroad racing. Or anything at this point.
8.5 came from the photo of the hex that has 8.5 printed on it. 😐

Buying used doesn't buy this truck.

Not talking about a noob necessarily but if someone wants to win a race with a factory team car outfitted with factory parts, this thing is overpriced for what you are getting.

It doesn't matter much to me... I won't be buying it either way.

The hex thing was more alarming honestly. 🤣

Yokomo wheels would work IF you could find adapters. Sourcing Yokomo wheels without internet access 35 years ago SUCKED. Adapters for a car no one heard of to adapt wheels that no one carries... 🤯☹️

Glad thats not... on the HORIZON yet! 🙄🤣

You have it with short course trucks and anything with a inner wheel bead larger than the outer, for years. I can go back to a CF tower right now and have no issues. The aluminum tower might probably even help me as it prob makes it more stiffer.

We get it. Yall dont like modern cars. Yall dont like anything to do about high grip tracks. If you dont like em. dont comment anything negative about it. its ruining the future hobbyists. Go tag along on all the reres of RC10s and get over it. Manufactures and the state of racing currently will not change back to the past. We all wish we can turn back time, but time cannot do that sadly.

Something that I realized over time is the ones who complain often don't have the car/product they're complaining on, not buying that product or aren't actually racing in modern times. 🤣 🤦‍♂️
This is the number 1 reason ill stop posting about new releases. the complaining is just over me tbh. In the mean time ill help Woodie with new release announcements for the home website. If its just joking, sure, but its a bit excessive to me.

Also, if we're mainly complaining about prices, everything has gone up. Not only in RC,... Everything. so... pretty self explanatory here. 🤷‍♂️

Sure, I complain on things myself, but I don't go above and beyond to repeat talking about it on every new thing. 🤷‍♂️ 🤔 :bored:

but if we don't speak out, how will manufactures know they're wrong? 🤔
:hehe:

and to be fair, i can drive cars with funky improper inner wheel beads. i just think cosmetically it looks like steaming pile of 💩
i wonder when 1/10 buggy's will start using them. having that super low profile inner wheel, sidewall won't rollover, be closer to a TC tire. would probably be good on super high bite tracks with suction, wait, are we vacuum forming the cars to the tracks yet? might be a thing of the future. like racing on a reverse air hockey table. I'm sure buggy guys would love it, no annoying dirt/clay or carpet fibers to clean. tracks could finally outlaw tire sauce over concern of plugging the holes in the track. might be hard to marshal a flipped car though. don't skip leg day. :hehe:
