When the F16's took off here, a lot of them would gun it and as soon as the tires left the ground they would shoot straight up in the air. I mean, perpendicular to the earth kinda straight up. I didn't even know they could do that. It never got old watching them do that because it looked insane.
When I was in the Navy, one of our squadrons at the Naval Air Facility WashDC hosted an international aerial photoreconnaissance competition. It was held out in the Nevada desert at NAS Fallon.

All the teams did their best to impress as they arrived. And when they departed after the competition... WOW! Notable were some aircraft that took off as you described, then broke the sound barrier while accelerating straight up. It made the hair on your arms stand up. 😮

Here's the NAS Fallon flight line on the morning before the competition started... an unusual rain shower made for a dramatic look as crews ready some A-6 aircraft for departure.

That is what it sounded like here too. The first time I saw it I was right outside the fence and the guy flew directly over my car. I stopped and stuck my head out the window to see it. I was almost to work with 10 minutes to spare but arrived late because there were 3 of them doing the same thing and turning around and doing ot again after a touch and go landing. It was like an awesome air show and I had a front row seat in the danger zone. So I got to work a few minutes late. I told the boss sorry, but I always wanted to be an Air Force or Navy pilot when I was a kid.

That's called a combat takeoff, training for short runways when deployed in combat zones. Our local Air National Guard used to fly F-16's then Transitioned to F-15's and they are all awesome to watch when doing this. 😍
That's what I figured, because they weren't using a tenth of the runway I bet.

I got to run my Outcast 8S EXB V1 this afternoon had a blast running it. Although my 2 4s lipos are starting to show their wear after close to 3 years of having them. Eventually i'd like to get a new pair of 4s' for both this truck and my future X-Maxx Ultimate.

The new Origin Classic kit build... a very short run outside in the driveway.

When I painted the truck, I was undecided about what to do with the grill. I thought that leaving it black made the Scout look a little "tougher," but painting it white made it look a little more "vintage." I went with what I thought was the more vintage look. (I wish that left front tire didn't have the distracting mold line down the middle of the tread.)

Today it happened, We finally got to go up to 405 RC for some racing also some window shopping at least for me. We had fun although my Dad's YZ-2 CAL3 broke early into our visit but my B74.1 soldered on with only destroying a fan to rx cable and slightly damaging the spur gear. But i was still able to drive for awhile until we packed up and went back home i also finally got to run my Spektrum iXSR+ for the first time at the track it was ultra responsive almost too responsive for me and there were no reliability issues with it.

Also did some tuning to my B74.1 got the steering mostly centered and going straight also did the end points (aka travel on the iXSR+ and other Spektrum TX's). I also made an antenna tube for the SR515 i have in this car with some spare tube and heat shrink.

These are the cleanest laps I ever ran while being recorded
Even TQed this qualifier, staying in front for a whole 5 minutes. Quite the challenge!

Cool stuff, If you hadn't heard my step mom just got a new job in Tucson Arizona last week and we'll moving there in the next few months so both me and my dad will need to find a new track to race our race rigs at. I found this one in Tucson last week and it looks awesome.

It's a dirt track for 1\10 offroad and they also plan to someday expand and build a 1\8 track as well.

Today i got to run my Arrma Vendetta this afternoon for the first time this year had to reverse the steering and get it trimmed to go straight. Although the run didn't last long before i got close to hitting LVC i went from a fully charged 3s 12.6V to 11.1V in 10 minutes also the car was cogging on startup and launches from a standstill. So someday i might look into upgrading from the stock Firma 100a\3660 3,900kv combo to a Hobbywing Max 10 G2 140a\3665 4,000kv sensored combo but keep everything else. Here's some pics.
