I have had 1 bad time with Associated parts. I thought it was poor communication and perhaps that I was looking for a $.03 o-ring for my old RC10.
I see Associated legal threats posted lately about copyright infringment or whatever they are saying... my point is that if I can't order an o-ring from Associated for an OG RC10 (without a month of bullshot and a picture of the Gorgon I bought because I thought their service sucked, so no mt10) why should I buy this kit from them?
I really don't know what to think about Associated.
They used to make good stuff and stand behind it. Now it feels like they are bolstering sales with old kits but if you REALLY want to run Associated, you gotta buy the "new" one and it will have 5 years of parts support. Then its time to move to the next platform etc etc...
IF Associated really is trying to push aftermarket off the map and make them the ONLY place that I can buy a part, I have to say "NO".
I want a car that will outperform me and hopefully the folks on either side of me.
I don't need a flashy paint job or the newest esc fan because it weighs .02 grams less than last years model.
Have we learned nothing from "the great wide-screen scams" a few years back?
Lol!
Durability. I'm gonna crash. So are other ppl. Into me. I've seen it! Lol!
Things break. I think there might even be a commercial on tv to that effect?
I NEED RPM ARMS!!! LOL!!!
I want a damned car that I can love to race again! I don't want to EVER feel "corporate friction" with this hobby.
Traxxas kind of blew it with me in that respect. My cars still fly and I do love them but the company that built them can go to hell.
I REALLY hope Associated and Yokomo take the opportunity to give SOME good parts support to SOME good retro/re-re models. If ppl are buying parts, what difference does the kit make?
I recognize that I am not exactly "in the loop" but does this make sense to anyone else? Does parts coverage sway your purchases for a kit like this?
(Yes, I would put it on an indoor carpet track and attempt to race it)
