I'm kind of confused by this...I don't mind the car, but isn't Yokomo still around?

Yokomo is still very much around. Yokomo's Website

AE and Yokomo collab'd on this buggy design back in the 80s.
That's cool, I had never known that they had collabed on it back in the day, but I did remember their team drivers racing each others cars in 2wd/4wd.

I saw that Yokomo's website is up, but being in Japanese I had no idea if they're still selling cars or just kept the site up. I guess I could have checked a US retailer...

A-Main has them

am i trippin ballz or is Yokomo still a player in on road racing? could also swear they have a semi popular drift car.
I've been out of the loop of RC for about 25 years now, I know a lot of companies have come and gone and seeing Associated selling old Yokomo buggies I thought they might not have made it.

Nothing against them, I know for sure they ruled 1/10 4wd buggy for a long time and it sounds like they've done some other good things in the industry more recently.

Yep. They're still very much a player. Being a Japanese company, we just don't see them much here.

My first drift car was a Yokomo back in the early 2000s. It was AWD (they all were back then) and it had a one-way bearing on the center driveshaft that allowed you to "e-brake" stopping the rear wheels when you hit the brake but allowing the fronts to keep spinning. That thing was FUN.
