Bashed it today, tires did well! Good grip in the street (wheelie monster) and in the grass. Although they balloon a bit, not that excessive though.

And todays bash with the ramp, RIP Nerf Bar lol.

Oh Yea, scored a 10BL120 G2 / WP ESC from my buddy for 30 bucks, should be getting it later this week since I'm sending him moneys tomorrow, that is going in here to replace the Max10 SCT (which has a dead program port) so now with this new esc I can actually tune it. Just have to chop off and save the XT60 and solder some bullets on it and it will be ready to rip!

Dunno if I am keeping the Max10 as spare for in the future, just in case, or for a project, or giving it away. Ill see later ;)

New wheels and tires in for the carpet season! Schumacher Mini Pin SC in the blue compound. Traxxas SCT 4wd F/R offset wheels. DE racing Red inserts. Review thread here if wanting to know if non traxxas closed cell inserts work with Traxxas wheels since they are different than ordinary SCT wheels. They mounted on fine for me, haven't glued them yet but will do so later this week. Ill see how they preform. If I notice something odd ill acetone them off and go with my regular de racing trinidad wheels.

Wrenching:
Getting rid of the MIPs? Well, I guess so. Had them on here for 4 years now. The pin for the stub axle on the right side was wearing down and the set screw i had super tight and loctite too, and it will still slightly move when under throttle causing the pin rubbing on the arms. And also I just noticed one of the hexes for it cracked where the grub screw went through. Whatever. Upgraded to Traxxas EHD axles with Hobbypark (Amazon) 5.5mm hexes.
The bearings on the left hub were a bit grindy. Was going to replace them but they were stuck in the hub! Tried wd40, punching it out with a hex driver, and a small flat head, notta. So just put some fresh new Fast Eddy bearings in a stock plastic hub I got from the spare parts bag. Never broken a stock hub before so it should be fine.

After wrenching on it I do feel like its slightly less heavy since those MIPs weight alot. This should help me on the track.

Think thats it I did today. Still have to get the 10bl120 esc I got to my buddy to solder up new bullets for me since I cannot solder anymore lol, unless my cheapo amazon iron is crapping out on me which probably it is lol.

Edit: I had to switch out the size screw for the camber links since the old ones I had in, the head for the screw was too big and was rubbing on the axles.

3652 Quicrun motor in. Ill have the 3660 on hand if I want to switch back. But check out my comparison thread here: https://www.rctalk.com/forum/threads/hw-ezrun-3660-vs-hw-quickrun-3652.144755/

Went down to a 20T pinion for now and see how it works. Once I find the reducer sleeve then ill probably go back to the 23T pinion. De graded as @luke66 says to 3652 for some weight savings and see how differently it preforms.

Been a while, again, lol. Nothing really changed about the truck but just wanted to show that I finally soldered up this new HW esc that I been meaning to do for months now. And would ya look at that, look at those joints on the bullets. Real nice job with a old but still good iron. and these joints are REAL stiff. When I used the cheapo iron that couldn't stay up to temp I couldn't even solder bullets bc the iron would get cool again or it can stick but the joint can fail real quick.

With this replacing the Max10 SCT just because I want to actually tune the esc. Comparing the manuals, the newer Quicrun does have a lower PEAK amp rating than the Max10. With running the mentioned above 3652 4000kv on 2s it should do just fine. Run the same combo in the rustler with no issues. But if I were to put back in the 3660 4000kv on 2s, might overheat but probably not. I was just thinking about it because of the size of the motor, and HW only offers the Quicrun in 3660 up to 3700kv and not anything more.

Max10: Peak Amp: 830A
10BL120 G2 WP: Peak Amp: 760A

Cool stuff, I used to have a couple 2wd Slashes but sold them both my grandad's currently looking into getting one a brushed one since they're currently $240 at our track. I still have my Slash 4x4 Ultimate still a great truck but i might consider getting into a new Arrma Senton 223s someday.

Just got note that my local carpet track (only been there twice) now does Arrma Furry box stock class on Friday night slash race nights. They had 10 people for box stock Fury the other day. Impressive.

Edit: id totally race my slash there if they allowed it. Obviously too modded for box stock. And it doesn't fit in the 13.5 class as they said well i don't have a 13.5 for it and the Traxxas chassis should stay with the box stock class. So I'm like there's no middle ground here? 🤷

i didn't know they started a box stock Arrma Fury class if i was living that area i would definitely get an Arrma Fury. I saw the videos of them and they're impressive for what they are since they're based on the Gorgon monster truck and from what i hear they are insanely durable. They also make a 223s Brushless one as well but my guess the class you mentioned were probably brushed.

Just buy an Arrma and race it then. No mods. 😎
The race sounds fun! 😁

I would if I didn't have this many cars and projects... Lol
I technically still have a Arrma to work on it's just not for indoors lol
You need more cars like I need more cars! 🙄
When are you ordering it? 🤔 🤣
