LiPo Comparison Thread (LiPo and NiMH AAs)

Ok, finally made it to the one year mark and the last self-discharge check on the AA batteries has been logged and posted on my Google Drive HERE. Some of the results were surprising and some were not but either way this should make it pretty clear which rechargable NiMH batteries you'll want to get.

I hope everyone is doing well :)

Glad to see you back!

FYSA....

I'm going to start up LiPo battery testing again. If anyone has any requests for a specific brand/models, please let me know here and Ill try to fit it in somewhere along the line. :)

I just realized that a lot of the links in my first post were not working. That should be fixed now but if anyone finds any others please let me know.

Well, I had to replace yet another breaker on my 100A discharger. Thats about 4 of them that have failed on me so far. Last time I had to replace one I bought a little higher quality breakers, at least I hope theyre better quality, they were more expensive. Since I had to take it apart and the original breakers have a track record of not being reliable, I went ahead and replaced the bad breaker and the one remaining old crappy breaker. Now that I have her working again with these new breakers, I'm praying that I dont have any more failures, at least for awhile :)

Ok, so I just completed testing on the TCBWorth 5200mAh 60C and a second Povway 5200mAh 50C LiPos. The Povway pack was a real POS. Its IRs were around 10 mOhm per cell right out the box. The TCBWorth battery did OK but its pretty much the same as all the other crappy Amazon batteries. I've added the results to the newly updated spread sheet.

I just finished another round of testing. I tested a second Zippy Compact and a third Liperior lipo. I updated the spreadsheet with the new data. They are still a couple of the better budget LiPos you can get. :)

New test results are up!
The two latest offerings. RCPower 6200mAh 100C and CNHL Racing LiHV 6000mAh 120C.

News flash... They're both junk. I was especially surprised to see the CNHL LiPo came with approx 9.5mohm IRs on both cells right out of the box. With that being the case I was not surprised that it performed very poorly.

😃🫣 I stopped by to ask something, then saw that familiar CNHL sticker.

Oh, yeah. Any idea why I can't see the labels of each column while using google docs?

I mentioned in Majin's SCT thread, this same issue ^^
If I download it; open in another app (Real Office), it works...

My guess is the white color used for column's header text that does not show up in Google Docs. If I triple left click on a column's title area, I can get to highlight the text...

Ok, I have fixed the issue with being able to not read the header text. For some reason, Google Drive strips the blue background out of the headers and replaces it with a white background, thereby rendering the white header text unreadable. Please let me know if you guys have any more issues with any of these spreadsheets.

Does anyone still have any questions about how to read the spreadsheets?

Ok, Next two batteries are done. This time around, I am testing a second Hoovo 5200mAh 80C lipo and a second Liperior Endurance 5200mAh 80C lipo. The bottom line is that Hoovo still sucks, and the Liperior Endurance packs are basically the same as the Hoovo packs.

I'm really sad to see Liperior replacing their regular awesome Liperior packs with these crappy Endurance packs. :(
I have a 120C Endurance battery to test so we'll see if its any better.

Latest testing is the Liperior Endurance 5200mAh 150C 2S pack VS the Ovonic Car 5200mAh 100C 2S pack. This was a bit of a weird match up. The Ovonic actually had a higher voltage under load than the Endurance pack inspite of the Endurance pack having better IRs and true C ratings. The endurance pack seems to fall short on capacity more than the Ovonic pack though, which allowed the Ovonic pack to come out on top in this test. The ovonic lipo actually tested fairly middle of the road, while the Endurance pack falls toward the bottom.

The big takeaway here is that the Liperior Endurance packs are garbage compared to the Liperior and Liperior Pro packs, and the 100C Ovonic pack was markedly better than the 50C pack. It's also laughable that this pack claims to be 150C.

On an unrelated note. I have added the following pic to the OP in order to help people be able to see at a glance what the current best LiPos are. Hopefully this will make it easy for people who don't want to try and parse all the data on the spreadsheets.
