Unknown situation with Lipo

I think almost everyone has lithium - polymer or lithium - ion batteries laying around being used and taken care of very casually. Cell phones , weed wackers, etc. I sure do, and don't take any precautions and never worry about them exploding or catching fire.
I don't know what type of batteries are in modern electric cars. I never saw one with flames shooting out the back though.
The lipo batteries in our cell phones and small electronics are small, and have FAR less energy than the batteries we use in our RC cars. And not only do you ABSOLUTELY need to worry about the risks of the 3600°F flames that will be shooting out of a battery while venting, the toxic fumes they spew out can kill you.

UPD

Just plug it to Lipo tester and....it's alive...
i mean cell is back to life (when i took photos it was plugged to charger with no action)
A bit off balance, voltage is 2.7 but...

Is it safe to balance and charge it or once issue has appeared - this should be recycled?
@Littlemotor will appreciate if spend a mine to see and give me an advice

P.S. on hota d6 there is no "balanced charge" it has just "sync charge" and i couldn't manage to find it in manual so don't know exactly what is doing

You never want a LiPo to go below 3v. It will start damaging the cell below 3v, and it gets worse the farther it goes below 3.v. That's likely why it wasn't registering on the charger.

I hesitate to even tell you how to bring it back, because there is a huge risk of fire if you aren't extra careful. You can plug the battery in and charge it on NiMH mode just enough to get that cell above 3v, then go back to LiPo charging. If you do this, do it outside on the ground. And only charge it for 30 seconds or so.

But based on you being a noob, and this being very dangerous if you walk away, or somehow overcharge the battery, I don't really want to be a part of it. When these battery's go, they spew out toxic fumes and flames hot enough to melt steel.

Safe bet - toss it and buy a new battery.

The Charge mode on the Hota does a balance at the end of the charge cycle.

Thank you man.
Once i plug it at 2.7 - i just go for balance it. and it does over 3.0
then i swap to charge BUT at just 1A
It is currently on charge, i'm waiting it to be 3,85v.
I'm sitting 20cm from battery and it's in safety bag next to the opened window )
Hopefully i'm doing right thisngs.

upd.
it's 3.62 already

i'm not one of those persons who will take a risk of fire to save 40 pounds.
I have resigned myself to utilize it.
Mainly i want to learn a lesson - WHAT exactly i did wrong (to avoid in futre...i just newbie in a hobby and it's one of my first packs so far)
Yep, not one of those persons to take risks, yet here we are. :bag:

I don't know that I'd feel comfortable with leaving that battery inside unattended. I would, not meaning you should, put the questionable pack through a few real-world charge/discharge cycles outside before moving on... and I don't mean discharging with D6's internal components and capabilities.

do you mean it's high risk of a fire during driving a car?

Whenever you run your LiPo below 3v per cell, the cell begins to break down through chemical reactions caused by the over discharge. It definitely took some damage, and that cell will always be a bit of a ticking timebomb compared to the other cells.

You will want to check the internal resistsnce on the cells. When the charger screen turns blue, it has started balancing the cells. Use the scroll wheel and look for "Cell IR". Get a pic of that screen and post here.

Thanks m8.
There is no chance I can do it. Just disposed it and hour ago...
To much risk for me and to low reward

Ordered chnl racing 8000 instead

You are supposed to completely discharge a LiPo before tossing it. Unless you like seeing garbage trucks on fire
