Thank you for the kind words!

Have you seen this freakin thing!?

No, but that is killer!

Some people just have too much time on their hsnds! If you're going to design something like that, why not find some decent diffs, like out of the Ryft, or Capra, and design the axles to use those? It's cool and all, but there aren't any 3d printed gears I would trust to hold up for very long.

Agreed. Although, here lately, I've been doing nothing but building shelf queens...so I could see it being a fun project for me. lol

Yeah, and you can always reprint the gears if they do fail. So it's not really that bad.

Worked on some accessories today.

Traction boards. Check.
Spare battery. Check.
Elegoo Centauri Carbon. Check. Never leave home without your 3D printer.

I have a 3d printer that runs off of a LiPo battery, and has a handle to take it with you. You you can be printing while walking around Walmart 😉

Kinda like this one...

Mega nerd is on the loose! 🤣 that’s pretty wild. Did not know those were a thing!

Well gang. I have good news, and I have bad news...

Bad news first: I have sold the red Jeep. I was offered an amount of cash nobody in their right mind would have refused. I boxed it up and shipped if off while shedding a tear flavored like seller's remorse. That thing was gorgeous.

Good news: I was already 50% through printing another one when the cash offer came. And version 2.0 is 🔥.

You'll notice there are some pretty major differences between this one and the red one. The file designer offers several different "upgrade" packages which allow you to make numerous different versions of the body. I wanted this one to be a tough looking, short WB, rock monster.

This one has a half-cab hard top with a rear lexan window in addition to the "stock" lexan windshield. The rear is shortened a smidge with comp-cut style rear fenders. I also went with different rock sliders.

You'll see missing screws here and there and stuff not fully attached...I ran out hardware. The whole upper half and the door are just sitting on there, not actually attached to anything while I wait for hardware to arrive. The screws, magnets, and other odds n ends required to assemble these bodies are not super easy to come by. Everything required is strange/small size and the folks doing these builds keep wiping out the inventories available on Amazon. I'm waiting on orders from several different places at this time. Prime 2-day delivery is so underappreciated until you don't have it...waiting days/weeks for a bag of screws to show up is for peasants! 🤣

Almost forgot to add: I made enough from the sale of the red one to fund a chassis kit. So that's one the way too!

More to come!!

I have sold the red Jeep.

Congrats! It was beautiful for sure!!! I really like the new one already too!!! It sounds like my Hornet when I was young, ran out of those course screws they used on EVERYTHING... had to improvise, right? 🤔
Wood screws are close! 🤣
nobody in their right mind
No idea what this has to do with you or this post. 🤔🤷‍♂️🤣

Nice job!!! Clearly I'm not the only one who sees just how much 3D design and print have improved!

Maybe a fun new side hustle for you too... 😍👍

So sad, and yet so cool! The red one was the coolest 3d printed RC I had ever seen. Til this one! Holy crap that looks good!

Why are there red seats in an orange Jeep?

My eyes...LOL

Rolls, Lambos, Vettes can all pull it off, why not a Jeep!?

It started as red accents in the interior because my orange 1:1 has red accents in the interior. I then said, "hey, let's try red seats while we're at it"...and I like it. Sorry about your eyes.

The build is underway

Vanquish played a little tricky trick on me and included one M3x12mm in Bag A alongside the other three screws to hold down the third member bearing carriers. There should have been four M3x10mm. Instead, there were three plus the 12mm. I sorted all the screws before building the bag and overlooked it. Guess how soon I realized it was too long….

Yep…not soon enough 😂
