Word of advice little man. Save for a better quality.
Walmart bikes can be junk.
The first bike will bottom out on every jump.
They are built for absolute beginners and don't last.

But, but

that means less money for RC parts

Hey, TT02, gotta get rid of ya buddy. Liked who cared about you anyways. 🤣
In the long run theoretically it'll break less. Unless you forget to strap it to the back of your tundra. 🤣🤣

A Walmart bike wouldn't have survived the trip down the highway like my Trek did. ;)
In my defense, I bought my tiedown straps at Walmart, so do the math brother.:wacky:
@Warby nailed it.

Agree with others. I've worked in bike shops in college. Stay far, FAR away from department store bikes unless you just want to cruise around the neighborhood. Look on Craigslist, Pinkbike classifieds, etc.

EDIT: I wanted to add. Bikes aren't like our toy RCs. Bikes are a long term investment. What may seem like a LOT of money upfront, spread out over ten years isn't really much at all. My full suspension bike is 8 years old, still going strong, and I still have zero desire to upgrade. Same with my hardtail, though it's one year younger. Maintain them well, don't write checks your skillset can't cover, and they'll serve you well for a long time.

The bike at walmart is still there, with the seat missing lol. Found another bike, online last night so we went there today. That bike had a used and deflated front tire. Yep nope. Gonna find a real bike shop.

Save Walmart for groceries, CL or bike shop is what you need.
As mentioned before, spend as much as you can on a quality bike.
Yes please don't buy a Walmart bike @DavidB1126 Go check Academy please or a bike shop. Please don't buy a Walmart bike. I'm being sincere.

You will pay a lot more at a bike shop but they will back there product.
Some shops have a used section, I would go with that.
@332_RC can't stress enough, stay away from WM bikes. Save that for Oreo's and bacon.

There is a couple shops in the city. I hate driving in the city. Yuck. But I guess I have to do what I gotta do.
Dude I understand if money & time is an issue. Do what you gotta do if a Walmart bike is it. You'll just be buying one every year.
