It would help if you removed the rubber shielding off the bearings. Not sure if your aware you can do that and replace the shield after youve cleaned and relubed them. I have a video on how to clean and lube bearings. I need to redo the video cuz this is one of my really old ones before I had a HD camera or even good lighting but you'll get the idea.

P.S. in the video I kinda speak a little down about CowRC Moo-tor cleaner and Moo-Slick but I have since come to embrace those products. I still have and continue to use those products.

I knew it was possible, just wasn't sure how to do it without destroying it. I'll give it a watch later. Thanks! 😊

Its hard to see what I'm doing on my crappy camera but you'll get the idea. I'm gonna see if I can remake that video this weekend or something.

Not sure if the rear a-arms are cracked or if this is how they come.
Can someone confirm?

Is that all the way threw? Either way not a good look could be dry rot.. I would get new arms personally rpms or the new HD ones from traxxas...the wrong hit looks like it will snap
It's the shock mount hole. I'm not sure if they come that way or not. But I sent a link to him for RPMs when I saw it. Knowing him he'll just run it the way it is until they break. Then ask me to fix it 😆

All rust removed from the hardware. Sitting in alcohol until I figure out what to do with it next 🤔

What would be by best option for preventing rust again? Here's what I have on hand I think might work.
WD-40
Dry lube like for bike chains
White lithium grease

I personally would just spray. Them all with WD40. Since that is what you should spray on the plastics anyway..take them out put on paper towel or just a towel... dry them and spray them all.. with WD40.👍👍👍
They all would work.. the dry lube wouldn't attract dirt or dust

Awesome that's kind of what I figured. Any other time I've removed rust with this method I've painted it after. So it gets a rust-oleum primer after.
