So my last build, I planned the idea form the ground up. Had a wheelbase in mind, picked a chassis and started building. Last thing was the body, and wasn't even sure I was going to put a body on it.

A few weeks ago, I was at a thrift store with Mrs. Tallbump, found a toy Jeep for $2.75, and now it's off to the races. (well, crawler spot, as this ain't no race car :hehe: )

As you see, it had the little buttons to make different noises.
Here's a pic side by side with a Basecamp for comparison

Sitting on a Basecamp Chassis for now, with 43MM shocks, upside down no springs. It's just sitting there, not mounted.

Working on getting the correct wheelbase/driveshaft length.

Once I get that nailed ( I think I got it) I will do different shocks and I have some mods to do to the body. Add-ons, I am not removing/trimming anything.

Going with a scale build, nothing crazy.

I will use this chassis and pick up a nice LCG chassis for the Basecamp that is donating this one.

You're gonna put all the noise buttons back on, right? 😁👍

I actually threw them all away. I have plan to cover the holes.
I am making it so it doesn't look like a toy.

But, looking back, I kinda wish I would have embraced the toy look.
Its cool either way! I think the toy look could have been a fun twist on a capable build. 😎👍😁

Yeah, hindsight 20/20 lol.

I am going on the opposite route, more looks over function. Which is very unusual for me. Normally I will sacrifice looks for function, but, I really want a cool, custom, scale but fun build

Made big progress on this.
It is actually fully functional.
It has a Deadbolt front front length and a C10 front for the rear length.
I got the Injora high clearance links with the ends that screw on. I did leave the Deadbolt ones a little unthreaded to lengthen it just a bit to get the wheels settled correctly. The rest of it is pretty much stock parts I have on hand from what has been upgraded on my JLU and Basecamp.
Working on finishing the body now.

I have some styrene pieces cut to cover the holes. Gor them primed, just need to pick up the paint color I want. Not sure if I will go green or tan.

Also, printed this guy to go in the passenger seat.

Have a few other accessories that will be going in the cargo area. And a few little tweaks to finish it off

Awesome! That looks really cool!

Thanks
It's almost "done". Been on hold as Mr. Tallbump got me a 3D printer for Christmas and I kinda got distracted LOL

Maybe I will work on it more tonight.

I really just need to get the body mounted lower, I don't like how high it is. I think I know what I can do

Got a LOT of work done on this one

Did my best to fill in all the gaps.
