Went to my cousin's house today to save these two guys from the graveyard.

The slash is a little rough. But I'll get it as good as new here soon enough.

Now this nitro he had no idea what it is. Says his uncle gave it to him. Maybe one of you guys will be able to ID it.

Just toss 'em in the dishwasher. 🤣
You know, that's probably not as bad an idea as it sounds lol.

@RetroKevin that is and AWESOME score. Are they both yours now? If so, grats muchacho!

Couldn't be any worse for them than how they've been stored for the last decade

Not yet. But I'm going to see what he wants for them. After I give him the list and how much it'll cost to fix them 😆

Well, when I first clicked the link for this thread I was thinking I was going to see that you bought a Losi Grave Digger, and I was going to call you names, profess my jealous rage, and move on. But now I think I will watch the progress 😉🤣

The cleanest part on this whole slash.🤣

I wonder if I can bring this back to life. If not I have a spare.

Are those airtronics servos on that nitro.. did you try to turn over motor? It probably won't but never know.. is there any number stamped into the chassis or anywhere to try and look it up? That's in some rough shap.what type of motor. What's it got on the sides under the head? See if it can be found

That motor is gonna be rusted af inside. pitch it imo.
I was able to bring the motor back to life surprisingly. My cousin is paying me to fix it. So if I can save him some money that's the plan for now.

Once I get this slash all fixed up I'll be tearing into that nitro.

I'll be sharing pics of the tear down to help ID it.

Dam didn't waste no time..nice..see that's how you break a rc down and clean it.. 👍👍👍
Sadly it'll take longer to get back together. I have all the rusty bits soaking in vinegar, and that might take a day or so.
I also won't be able to test the electronics until my xt60 to trx connector gets here. should be here by Thurs.

The little red micro bit screwdriver set you have there, I have the exact same one. Careful with that one on RC screws 😉

Looking like a ton of fun Kev. If you want to restore those plastics, give them a dousing of WD40 then wipe em down real good. Looking forward to seeing the rest of this build.

I haven't had issues with it yet. What do I have to watch out for?
The bits aren't the strongest steel. I use mine for just general light duty stuff. I am normally very careful with knowing when a bit is about to strip, and those have just randomly bit me a number of times. Maybe you got a better set, but I won't use mine on my RC stuff. As long as you don't get crazy though, it is a handy little set.
