Ecto-AMG got her clear coat today! Now she's sportin' a little bit of shine 🤩
I'm off to the hobby shop today in hopes for some polystyrene to build a platform for the light bar and tiny SCX24 size screws for the roof rack install once the body is completely cured.

All the fine details are glued in and waiting to dry. I'll let that sit for a day +, I'll work on my polystyrene box for the lightbar to connect to.
Then it'll be working the roof rack on and getting lights and sound wired in.

It's been a minute!
So, I was dragging my heels a bit, as I was hesitant to put holes in my newly painted car for the roof rack. I did finally get it done. Two screws, secured with nuts on the opposite side, so it's not going anywhere. Yea, my screws are not even (I measured twice!). They will be covered up so you won't notice 😉.

I've painted the edges of the polystyrene sheets so they blend into the roof rack. Lightbar is secure to its base too. I'll be flying the lightbar to the second polystyrene you see up front.

Next step is determining where I need to notch the windshield so I can fit the wires through. The speaker will sit on the underside (somewhere). Likely under the hood.

Progress!
Finally got a little time to work on this again and enough courage to cut into the windshield for the wiring.

I made some grooves to allow for all the light bar wiring to pass through, as well as the speaker button.

Confirmed placement before I secure the lightbar and speaker button to the roof and do the fishing touches with paint. Considering concealing the mess of wires coming from the light bar, but I'm not certain yet. This may be as good as it gets with this tiny car.

The underside. Yea...wire management is my next nightmare. Also, need to secure the speaker (somewhere) 😆

Wire management is the worst on minis. Looks like your going to have a full house in there.

Yea...I'm honestly not sure where all these wire are gonna go.
One night say I've pushed the limit on Mini Z 😄

If you can't hide it all try covering it with heat shrink or wire wrap so it's not rainbow road everywhere. It can go a long way 😀

Time to get Ecto-1 across the finish line!
Pro tip for wire management: bourbon first 😂

I started with plan A and did some troubleshooting to, I think, plan D in the end. I stuffed a majority of the wires toward the rear bumper as there was more room there.

In the end. I love it and am so pleased with how it turned out. I can't drive it very well and something is up with yeh steering I need to adjust. It doesn't want to turn left very well. It could be just the tires getting dirty.

For fun I had Gemini craft a spooky theme for the Ecto 1 ☺️

Sweet! The paint job came out awesome!

When you say the steering is troublesome, is it possible it's rubbing?

Yea, I'm thinking it is. The "L" shaped body mounts I have don't seem to lock into place with the chassis like I had hoped. It feels like the body is wider and needs a longer bracket but I'm not certain.

Funny story behind those, I lost the body mounts in all my disorganized-ness. So I emailed Kyosho. They actually called me, a real human! Amazing! And sent me two new mounts free of charge. I was so impressed.
