My old RC rc-10 stopped steering!!
When I was running my RC-10, the steering stopped working. I un plugged the servo and the plug came apart when I removed it, after
Installing a new plug the servo never worked again!!! I plugged the speed control channel 2 into channel one and I was able to control the back wheels using the controller on ch. I then plugged a good servo into ch 1 but it had no response, I want to get a new servo for ch.1, steering but wondering if it will work on channel one?????

Welcome to RCTALK.COM!!! 😎👍😁
Sorry about your troubles.
You have a known good servo and it will work in 1 channel but not in other?
If that is correct, your receiver or radio is where to look for trouble.
If you are asking if channel 1 can support a servo, yes, both channels can support sevos.

These servos you are testing with, what are they?
Old systems might not have bec power enough to support a modern servo.

Hello Mike, I meant to say that on the receiver channel 1 (steering) works with the esc plugged into it.
When I turn the wheel on the transmitter the wheels on my RC-10
Spin forward and reverse telling me that the ch. 1 slot on the receiver works!!! How come when I plug a working servo in the channel one slot, the working servo will not work, I even tried both channel one slots on the receiver, the crystals are matched and work properly?????

Hi, no prob. I have a Futaba twin stick sitting on the table in front of me right now. I'm a pretty big fan of the old stuff. I can help you with your vintage issues I hope. 🤞😂

Lets do this first. If your radio and receiver are connected, your cystals aren't the problem.

What gear do you have? Could you list it so I can try to picture your sitation or BETTER, could you share a couple pics of your equipment so we can all see? 😎

You mentioned that your plug broke? How did that happen?
Have you inspected the receiver pins themselves? Its easy to bend a pin over and not see it. Your servo and esc will never work with bend pins that aren't connecting.

You rebuilt your plug? Correctly? Are you 100% positive the metal pins are making contact inside the plastic plug?

If your servo is drawing too much power for your esc or receiver to handle, you could easily be getting similar issues to what you are describing.

Some video on youtube of the issue linked here would be very helpful too I think.

The esc is from a redcat and works great!! My controller (Transmitter) is an older Traxxas (am) the grey one.
Receiver is a Traxxas (am) crystals are 27.045. I tried plugging in a working servo from a 2wheel drive Stampede, Traxxas Servo, wouldn’t
function???

Servo does not work either ch1 or ch2 but works fine in the stampede, to clarify things.

Ok. Is the servo still in the truck when you are testing?
What model redcat esc are you using. Doesn't mattet if its good if it came from a 1/18 scale crawler.

Answer all the questions I've asked so I can help figure this out. 👍
The devil is in the details almost always.

I could suggest this... test the esc by plugging it into you other working radio system receiver. Does it power that receiver and that good servo still work fine or no?
I have to go out for a while, I will answer you when I get back, thanks for your help so far!
