I looked the thread over but I didn't see it mentioned, perhaps I missed it, what is the name of that 4 pin connector?
Currently in the process of building a parts list to convert my Mini Z 4x4 over to different electronics but I want to retain the lights as plug and play.

Thanks in advance

It was a good day to get in some paintwork!
Primer was done a few weeks ago. Did a test fit with the chassis and black tires I got.

Body is now painted white with accessories painted in black. It's actually drying quite nicely. Though, I still may wet sand a few spots and add one more coat of white; but maybe I'll do that tomorrow and let this sit to cure.

Additional coats added to the Mercedes this morning. Now I'll leave it to cure for the week.
Next weekend will be masking and painting the black and red details. As well as saying a prayer none of the white lifts up with the masking.

Masked off what is to be black and red for the AMG. The idea is a red stripe down the hood and black fenders.

This car has so many tricky little angles, painting detail is a challenge. I had a couple issues of over spray even though I thought I taped everything well. I was able to run some black over spray off, but I may need to hit the back with just a touch more of white once I get the other details done and everything is cured.

Black fenders complete! Used a very tiny paint brush to clean up some lines.

This is where I may need to hit the back with a touch more white when all is done before clear coating.

The details really make a big difference! The black and the stripes look great! 😎

The stripes look so straight! Do you use a laser or something? I like how they are offset too. 👍
Thats just the painters tape😆, I probably should have clarified in my post.
My plan was one solid red stripe in the center of the blue tape. Didn't think of two stripes I red 🤔....

Decided to go for it and get her red stripe done. Some flaws, which are a bummer, but overall pretty good. A little bleed through with the pinstripe tape on the hood, pretty minimal at least.
I'm not sure how much I was to mess with it, as down want to hit that tipping point where you make it worse rather than better.
Debating on the rear, if I use black to give it a "dirty" look ( with like a black fade) rather than trying to correct the white 🤔

Little tape works best with little fingers. I never have great luck with it. I think maybe best to leave a tiny flaw like you said.
I would 100% make a bigger mess 'fixing' it. 🙄🤣

I think at 20mph with all the lights and siren going, that car I gonna look awesome!

Dirty makes it look like a legit NYC car! 😎👍

Yea. The flaws on the back are muted with the dirty look. The hood one, we'll see if I let it go. I don't want to mess with it til I know it's all dry. It may need one more dirty coating, maybe just a lighter grey to give it more depth

I'm so glad I added that NYC "grime" look to it. It really needed it!

Little touch up after it sets up and it'll be fine.
Yea. A think brush with white should do it. But yea, making sure it's completely dry, so I don't make pink 😆

Ran a trail 15k this morning, fun by tiring 😄.

Decided to take the little energy I had still and painted some details.
For the grille, I sanded off the black on the high points then hand painted the red. Mirrors and rear light housing for some silver detail.

Airbrushed a little more road grime to the back and sides today.
Then, I got the waterslide decals on. Tomorrow, I plan to get the clear coat on this thing. Loving how it's looking so far!
