Have fun. I'm staying indoors.
We'll be in the -30° -40° windchill range this weekend. I've skied in it before (-53° standing still) but only because I was working. Even the loggers I know aren't going to be working this Saturday. Maybe Sunday I heard.

It's cold any exposed skin is vulnerable. I've hade frostbite it's not fun......it's not fun for a year or more as the nerves recover. Super hyper sensitive to temperature, hot or cold.

Just a tip...I use a product called dermitone https://www.dermatone.com/?srsltid=AfmBOooPs1FOgO-g8gQd3Kkwne0m1FqzqdBYHY0x7qw9EvjUDo-0TdaI
But any lotion or Vaseline type product can help on exposed or semi exposed skin. It slows the evaporation of basically your sweat. Which transfers heat. Helps with windburn also.

I know a lot about snow and cold

I love it, most of the time 😆

Where are you from again? Because that's cold! I wonder how @jojobeans's weather is going to be this weekend.

I'm in vt. That's windchill. Not actual temps. But highs are like 2° Saturday. Worked in the ski industry from early '90s till '18 as a instructor/coach and other rolls on a mountain.

Yeah, I saw you said windchill. We're going to be around -13 windchill.

Yeah, that's cold. I've seen a bunch of negative 20's, add some wind and it's very cold. Cold and snow is good....but there's a point for even the lover's to hate it lol

Snow is weird squeaky at these temperatures
Throwing snowballs looks like you're trying to perform a magic trick when you throw them and they turn into a white cloud.

It's been a heat wave the last week or so!

I ended up freezing some pipes during that cold snap. Coldest sustained December since 1904. We broke multiple records, I'm ready for it to be someone else's turn. It's -5 at my work right now and it feels like T shirt weather outside. Crazy how the body acclimates. 😂

I used to have a really miserable, hot job. We made this blue and black enamel cookware with the white specks on it. I'm sure you've seen it.

I ran the machines that dipped the pans. One side we loaded them. On the back side we sat them on the chain to go through the furnace. 120°F+ heat all day long, plus the chain was like a constant scalding hot metal shelving unit gliding by 1' from you. On break we'd all go outside in the winter and lsy down on the snow covered benches 😝

The best time to go to Chena Hot Springs is when it's -40 for that reason alone. 😂

Nothing beats the feeling of dragging yourself out of a ripping hot public bath on the brink of passing out and feeling that cold air rapidly cool you down.

Yeah, the best I've ever had it was having a hot tub and swimming pool 6 feet away from each other. The hot tub could hardboil eggs. The pool in the fall was frigid. Go back and forth a few times and you feel like you went back 20 years younger.

My buddies apartment used to have an indoor outdoor pool. When it snowed, we would sit in the jaquizzi, and watch it snow through the partition, until we were lobsters, then jump in the pool, it was awesome. :)

Well, all the idiots rushed to the grocery stores and cleaned it out of milk, hotdogs, brats, pork, beef, eggs, etc. Like hey dumbasses - it's just snow. Not the apocalypse.

As long as they left some Oreo's it's all good. You don't need milk with Oreo's, as long as you have Iced Tea, just ask @kbear .
