How's the weather been?

Sometimes it's far from pleasant to have a run in with either a bear or mountain lion.
I see bears often in the Payette National forest a half hour from me and have seen only one
mountain lion that honestly I didn't want to see.
A couple instances I've had run in with bears. I lost a half of an elk to a stubborn bear
and didn't stick around to argue with it.
My ex father-in-law got stuck between a sow and a cub that also gave him a laundry problem, bears don't like bird shot.
Another situation I was in wasn't quite as dangerous but could have been.
When I used to archery hunt a hunting buddy and I were up on the mountain and we were sitting across the canyon from each other.
I build a blind a few weeks before so I had a really good set up on three game trails that intercepted each other.
One was a 5 yard game trail from my blind , one was at 20 yards and one was at 35 yards.
I caught movement from the corner of my eye and a mountain lion stopped in front of me on my 5 yard trail.
We both chit ourselves. It hissed at me and it was the scariest thing I've ever experienced, terrifying actually.
It didn't stick around and I damn sure didn't want to.
Rarely do you see mountain lions unless you hunt with hounds.
I am somewhat nervous in the woods every time I'm there.

I told you guys about the bears we watched several years ago while camping.
We watched a huge boar trying to kill a cub but mama bear took care of business.
Thankfully we were on one side of the reservoir and they were on the other.
Amazing experience regardless.

At least it’s super nice in the shade.. 😎🤷🏻‍♂️

There's catamount here and eastern wolf. Definitely no brown bears but we do have black bears. I don't mind the black bears but that's because I'm used to that....I definitely don't want to see a big cat or a big dog close. We had a few doe and buck on game cameras around the day and day before that, before I took these pictures.

I saw at least three as I took the picture. Then we had to go into the woods for the day.

First time I saw that. And was very happy the other two guys where there....1 to witness it and 2 because I wasn't alone like I am most of the time. Those dogs are around, and every once in a while I'll find they've walked my fresh tracks in. They definitely watch me.

My AC has not shut off all damn day! And I cranked it to 72° and it's still chugging away.

Breydon and me are just chilling indoors. He started learning to whistle a couple weeks ago. So earlier today I taught him how to do the morning dove call with your hands. He's sitting here getting pretty good at it 😊

If it's 94 and real feel shade is 103. How can the shade be warmer then the temp? Here it's still a lie but simple. The temp they say is in the shade. Tge heat index is the in sun temp.

IMO the temp should be the temp… We don’t need all this “feeeeeels like” BS… I can’t stand sensationalism no matter how ya cut it.. 🙄
