How's the weather been?

They need to be replaced to I've put it off.
I had Microscopic surgery on my left knee that only lasted about a month.
Same here. Can't afford the time, trying to hold off on fixing me until Mrs. Doom is done.

Snowy and cold this weekend. Then a near 60 day tomorrow, before cold as hell again highs in the 20's.

Speaking of knees, wife tripped over her own feet and split her kneecap right across (clean, luckily). Fun times...

Hope she is ok.

-9 degree F. But were getting some daylight back and its supposed to warm up here in a week or so. The RC itch has been chewing away at me and I can't wait to get back out and run my cars :p

Here in a month or two we should be back to a normal amount of daylight. The last few months, it's been pitch black when I go to work a pitch black when I leave work. I can't wait until we have out 22 hours of daylight again, the winter I really starting to take a toll on me lol.

Yup! Thats a bit further north than Maine! 🤣
We miss the auroras where I am... at least you get the best light show on earth!!! 😍
We're waiting on the first real snow of the year!
The weather has been odd this year.

Unfortunately I live directly in town and the light pollution really drowns out the auroras. When I visit my parents in North Pole, you can really see them though. I love this place and will never move. But, the winters really do affect your mental health with the lack of light and the cold, summers make up for it though, even if they're short. We just go through our bout of -40, should be uphill from here though with some more snow to boot!

I'd love to travel thru there but the cold would finish me!
Its so beautiful up north!
Too bad about the lights! We have too much light and not north enough. At least your drive to the north pole is shorter than mine! 😂
-40 is just silly! 🥶🥺🤣

The best way to describe it is a dry cold. Little to no humidity. -40 here is similar to 0 degrees down in the sates where the humidity is high. So, it's not nearly as bad as it sounds... But, if there's anyone who is set up to really stress test some RC plastics, it's definitely me! 😂

I willl say at -20 degrees, newer traxxas cars is the ONLY manufacturer that doesn't shatter on impact. In fact, I am yet to break a part on my Sledge in the extreme cold and I'll launch it off a snow bank all day long. I'll see if I can dig up some videos.

I bet you don't have many overheat issues either!!!🤣
Shatterproof plastic is a MUST on all my r/c's! 😉

Traxxas has probably the best plastic compound. I wish more RC's would copy it to be honest, even their plastic driveshafts hold up in the cold. The electronics get warm enough to melt the snow, but not warm enough to thermal shut down. Even if you run 6s and really high gearing. They'll cog before they thermal shut down, which means 6s and overgearing is really fun and possible for a large part of the year. I tend to drop the pinion on the sledge 3-4 teeth and swap over to 4s come summer time for perspective.

Those trees make me feel cold HERE! 🥶😂
You def are getting some air! I'm really surprised you don't break regularly!

I do, just not plastic parts assuming it's the sledge. Last winter I sheared off all the teeth on the ring and pinion on the front and rear. Blew apart the pinion and spur. Upgraded to machined hardened steel all the way around and that issue is now non existent. I've landed hard enough to bend the chassis on the sledge without breaking so much as an arm in the cold.

The kaiju has broke in the cold, the rear hubs just couldn't take it. I've broke my Corally rear arms as well and the Arrma's are practically unusable, they break diff cases and arms even if you land on all 4's when it gets this cold. They also break diff cases and arms even when the weather is warm, but that's a rant for another time. 😂

Gotcha! Well now I feel a little better about all my breakage!🤣
Have to tried parts from RPM?
