.........take 2
Finally got, Habanero, my new Traxxas TRX4 Range Rover Defender on its first trail ride today. Well, today would have been it's 2nd run, if I didn't have a total brain fart last Saturday.
I took Habanero, 30 minutes away, to an area I've heard about: Middlesex Fells Reservation. When we got there, I couldn't get the ESC to power on. I kept messing with the power button, until it finally dislodged and ended up somewhere inside the ESC. Stupid me, with now 3 crawlers, didn't bring a back up vehicle. So here I am, at what I will soon discover is an epic rc crawling area, without a crawler.
Ok, getting back to today, no power button issue. This TRX4 platform runs smooth as butter. Despite the tall, huge body, and no additional weight added yet, this thing can crawl! Looking forward to adding weights and dual stage tire foams to see how much better it can do. Thunder and menacing, dark clouds started rolling in, so I was only able to get about 30min in. It was still enough to get my crawling fix.
