we got to go for a walk yesterday, spent 1/1/26
as per usual things broke. we ran till we failed then we packed em back out!
this time we talked the wife into going with us, no truck driving from her, but she was there and thats a great start lol
i took the basecamp with the new aluminum axles,,, failure. theres a hiccup in it, i gotta take the front apart again and figure it out, theres a small hop to one of the front wheels, and when we reverse the tires swing and throw it into a spin. not cool
so my son drove the Old Man (ecto) instead. it outperforms the basecamp, BUT he drives my truck a LOT more carefully than he des his.
hes a test dummy with his truck hes just hard on it when its mine lol

i drove the bison, i really dig that truck lol but it failed me as well. I'm 99% certain that i didnt install my motor correctly. when i had installed the fusion8 it didnt want to seat properly and i had to dremmel a small part of the transmission case down for it to fit, i think i didnt drill enough off and i believe that cased my pinion to eat my spur gear from the sounds of it.

i remember feeling nervous about it when iinstalled it but i was being a dumb and said it was good enough while KNOWING it was in fact not good enough. now we deal with the consequences of our actions.
didnt get many pics but the wife did. but then she added music to it for her ticytoky. o well lol

Cool videos and looks like a ton of fun.
it was fun, we found a new place to crawl but didnt want to take the wife untill weve scoped the trails out lol,

Yo wife got the same hair color mine do's.

Looks like a blast. I spent my childhood walking the woods with my pops. I mean we had guns, not rc's, but either way- building memories right there. Doin it right. 😎

she had enough fun that she said today we needed to go for longer walks!!! I'm so stoked!!!!

its not too bad, lots of dry leaves tho so hard to do as much as wed like, but we make it a blast
You mean you guys don't hike with a leaf blower? SLACKERS! 😜

I'm collecting parts for another crawler build. I'm ready to get back into it.
what parts do you need bro? i have lots of extra pieces for some odd reason lol

Axles for now. I'm going to use portals. Thanks for the offer bud, I really appreciate it.
This is going to be one of those several months thing. I'm not concerned about it.
I haven't decided on the wheels and tires or the body yet but again, no hurry.

i have a set of ar60 axles from the ryft and a set from a gen8 i think? but no portals anywhere other than the trucks sadly
I've been trying to get my cage bouncer built but keep running into 10000 of distractions lol
gotta learn how to do custom wheelbase i am lost with it lol
so it also is been a few months in the works

ikr 100% with @Doom! and the comp fox build, i started the white hawk over a year ago lololol

All my crawlers right now are straight axle, not exactly sure what I did with the portal rig.
I'm kind of set on the portals. This build is actually just to have something on the bench to work on once in a while.
