Hey guys.
Long story short.
I got into the hobby last spring. I got a slash 2wd bl2s. I knew that the 4x4 was better but at that time i didnt know if id continue rc or not so i didnt want to invest to much at first. Finally i put longer a arms, 2.8 badlands (the narrower ones), i have rear ultra shocks in front and big bores for the rear (yea i know controversial but i like them). Stronger drive shaft and raised the suspension by quite a bit. It looks super sketchy but it works like a charm. Ill try to add pics. I tried different oil and springs. 40 in front with stiffer springs and 30 in rear with softer springs. I pretty much change the suspension setup at every run but I'm close to sweet spot. So its like a backslash/monster slash i guess ? The longer a arms with bigger tires is i think the best upgrades i made. Its really really hard to flip unlike the stock slash. Oh and i changed the servo for an amazone 35kg servo. It helped alot. When i hit a rock it still go right i love it.

What i realized is that what i like is really hard offroad. Thats the only thing i do. I feel that i run where a xmaxx would run.First i love it and second i feel that i just eat the tires to much on pavement.

I wanted to upgrade to 3s but i feel that the 2wd is not the right thing for what i do. I tried it a bit in the beginning of winter and it was just uncontrolabled.

So i want another rc car xd (i know you been there done that haha).

I want your opinions and want 3s (maybe 4s if the truck can take it)

Honestly id like a kit but its all rtr... I really like modifying it but it cost alot...

So I'm considering doing pretty much the same thing i did with my slash but with a 4x4 vxl. I like it because the platform is bigger too. A stempede looks like a good choice to. I may put longer a arms on it. The other choices are the tekno 410 but its a bit controversial and have a low center of gravity. Or the rival mt10.

Honestly i think id go for the slash vxl or stempede vxl because i like to go at my hobbyshop. I like the human interaction instead of buying online.

I like high center of gravity. Not only in the center but where the axles are because of the heavy offroad. Idk if you have sugestions ? Maybe the maxx but it seems just to much idk. I like rc but I'm doing it here and there.

Thanks ^^

The Stampede 4X4 VXL is one of the few Traxxas 1/10 trucks that comes with a center diff. I like it for that alone. I have the Hoss which it replaced, and it has been a good truck, a but crazy on 3S, but still a lot of fun. The Associated MT10 compares well, as it is the same size, has a center diff, and gets a bit crazy on 3S. The Tekno is a bit more durable, but also heavier, so it has shorter run times with the same battery, compared to the Hoss or MT10, but it is the only one I'd trust to handle a 4S setup without major damage on every run.

Good luck with your choice!

Maybe I'm wrong but i think the stempede comes with a larger motor. I think ill go to my hobby shop tomorrow to ask some questions.

Do you have pics? We love to drool over other peoples rc’s!
Like i said its a bit sketchy bu it works. At least on 2s. I feel that i have one of the most flexible rc car haha but i guess for bashing its great.

I used caster blocks to rise the rear suspension and pvc pipes that i cut to change the mounting points on front. I didnt measure it but i tjink i may have higher ground clearance than the stempede right now. Rpm arms are missing the suspension holes closer to the chassis.. i would use them if i could.
It drives really well but i feel limited by the 2wd.

Right now i dont ride with the body. It looks akward and its making alot of noises. And i like to see how the suspension works too.
