What is a better esc for the Traxxas maxx v2 that only will work with 4s lipo and not a 6s lipo

On a budget, the Hobbywing 8BL150 would work fine with the stock 2400kv motor.

You might have to change the connector on the ESC, to match your batteries.

Hobbywing Max 5 or Max 4.
Oh, it's just the Maxx, Probably the Max 8.
Just because it is rated for 6s doesn't mean you have to use 6s.
Would the hobbywing max 10 140 amp esc work on the Traxxas maxx v2 with the stock motor

Both of those systems have been on sale. You couldn't go wrong either way.

The motor connections are smaller on that ESC, if you're comfortable soldering new connections on your motor it would work fine.

A better deal is at Hobbywingdirect.com for the Quickrun 8BL150. That would suit you better.
But the reason I want to go with that esc in the picture so that I can use my hobbywing ota programmer

Its also sensorless
If you need sensorless, then get the Quickrun 8BL150. The Quickrun may not have OTA capability, though. An 8BL150 plus a program card would be cheaper than the Max10 140a.
In the end get what you want, as long as it does what you need.
