It sure is. You can still find rollers (kits with wheels, minus electronics) and sliders (same, but no wheels/tires) on ebay. There are parts here and there as well, but getting thin. Sometimes they come with a body, like this one did. Sometimes they don't.

The RC10 was the one to beat back in the day. Great, lightweight kits. But they are 2 wheel drive, which are harder to drive, but the RC10 never was a buggy that was too loose in the ass end. It was, and still is a great performer.

Awesome! I’m a huge fan. I’ve never had one but I’ve drooled over them often. Sweet ride 👍
Thank you. This one has a Keifer Design paint job, and I remember that name from way back when. It was a pretty rare find. I just wish is didn't have a hole melted through the windshield. But I was thinking I just might cut that area out and slap a window net in there.

It's not one I drive. Just a shelf queen that reminds me of one that was stolen from me years ago. I like looking at it 😛

The RC10 was my second love after the Kyosho cars, and I am a bit of a vintage junkie. They don't drive like the new ones, but the designs I feel were a lot simpler back then, and just worked. Working on them is a piece of cake compared to the new RC10's. And they were true 10th scale back then, or at least a lot closer to actual 10th scale.

Today's RC manufacturers have decided to use the electronics as the basis for scale, which is just stupid. Like the Losi Hammer Rey I am rebuilding. This thing is a monster, and they call it a 10th scale because the ESC and motor is 10th scale.

What do you think?

First of all , I’d still be pissed if someone stole my RC. I’m a grudge holder. That B4 is just so badass looking. I’m a big fan of the vintage stuff as well (late 80’s especially). Tamiya , Team Associated and Kyosho were kings back then. RC10 , Ultima , Hornet , Frog , Lunch Box were just a few I admired in the magazines.

And it’s ridiculous how they rate the scale of RC’s today. My MT10 is 1/10 (obviously) but so is my kid’s Maxx and his truck totally dwarfs mine.

Same with the Summit vs a Rustler... both are 1/10th scale. ;)
The we have 10th scale crawlers that are 1/10 scale height, 1/8 scale length, then 1/9th scale width. Let's not talk scale accessories either. 🤣🤪

We’re about to head out to bash around the school field in a few minutes and looking at our trucks , the Stampede is much closer to the size of the MT10. Very close in dimensions. Even the Rustler is close but the Maxx is borderline 1/8 scale in my opinion.

Same with the tmaxx. Traxxas does it alot. But they seem to put the smaller scale driveline in it. 🤣

That's what I was referring to. The idiots in charge think the electronics make the scale.

Hey, let's make a 24th scale crawler with 1" wheels! I have yet to see a full size crawler with 24's 😝

1/8 scale is what appeals to me at the moment so that’s what I’m leaning toward for my next RC.

Speaking of my next RC , I think I’m going with Tekno. Everyone (on here and even YT) seem to agree that they’re one of the best (if not THE best) for a 1/8 scale buggy/truggy.

There’s also an SWorks buggy that still looks great to me if were to go RTR.

Full Circle?

Welp, if all RC happiness purchasing attempts lead you astray.... somewhere, in a sub-forum electric RC category, someone asked what RC to buy with x amount of mula. A good idea, or two was brought up and may help with next purchase. 😁

I think I felt similarly not long after running my Hornet... I knew I wanted "more" or "different" and so it went...
There is so much to do and try in "R/C land", its hard to stay with "just one".
Wait til boats and drones get thrown into this mix! 🤣👍

I have no interest in boats and drones (boats and ho’s , haha). But I DO have a great interest in different types of surface RC like MT’s , truggies , buggies and even some on-road cars. Some of the rigs here in the showcase section as well as ROTM are just awesome. Littlemotor’s Losi ROTM candidate is siiiiiiick!!! That thing deserves a trophy 🏆

Yeah I said that once too….”I’m not interested in boats”

Until you drive one for the first time and the grin you develop splits your face in two 😁

Yeah, I didn't ever see myself trying flight again but mini drones ARE fun! 🤣
Ever been to an R/C airshow???
A flyers group put on a HUGE show at Sanford airport locally.
I saw the most insane examples of r/c flight that I could have imagined!!!
A 1/4 scale F16 is really something!!!
Huge planes doing VERY low speed acrobatics and tricks... I didn't know a plane could actually "fly" like this until I saw it happening!

You might find yourself at the beach and see a speed boat that you just love!

Never say never! 🤣

I am just starting to get into on-road. I need to find a gym or carpet track to run on tho.
Maybe I can find a closed up mall with easy access... 🤔😂
The on road cars are awesome! Asphalt is just so brutal to a chassis! Locally, there's no other place to run. (Maybe a hockey rink!🤔)
Theres lots to learn at a track! Tuning and driving skills need MUCH improvement!

Once you start building kits, you'll sharpen your skills quickly! I'll bet it won't be long til you're winning ROTM too!
The competition is TOUGH this month!
There are some REAL nice rides up there!
@Littlemotor 's builds are def on a level I've yet to reach! I learn a lot from his posts here. His tire and paint skills and write-ups are awesome!
This site has a lot of EXCEPTIONALLY tallented builders and drivers. There are ppl here who post tech articles like lab experiments! @Greywolf74 battery, charging and equipment how tos are so "above and beyond"!!!
We're pretty lucky to be here actually! 👍😍
