We just got a bunch of extra body clips today and a second handheld blower. Those pine needles like to get stuck in the wheels. This weekend looks like great bashing weather here. And it’s the last soccer game of the season too. Good stuff 😃
🤣 Well thank you my dude! Just trying to give the best advice possible if I’m asked, is all..

I’m with ya on the pine needles as well. I’ll be running the blower all morning tomorrow, then finally time to ā€œbreak groundā€ on the new track. I’m beyond stoked over it, as it seems I’ve been prepping for this the past couple months.. It’s finally time to get this show on the road. -I’ll likely make a thread after this weekend’s multiple tractor work, and photos.. šŸ¤©šŸ¤˜šŸ»

New track? Sick! The more pics , the better. Which state are you in?

I know right? All I manage is one liners! <<<< See what I mean? 🤣

Nope... can you expound on that? 🤪
🤣🤣🤣

Yessir-180’x80’ish. I’ve been gathering them, and sharing a few here and there in the ā€œwhat did you work on today?ā€, or ā€œif you didn’t do anything RC relatedā€ threads.. Won’t be the first 1/8 off-road track I’ve done by any stretch, but will be the first one in my OWN back yard.. 🤩

I’m just West about 30min of Raleigh, NC (Hence the hordes of pine needles šŸ˜…)…

Haha nice. A backyard track is something I’d have to bribe my way into. It may be time for a new piece of jewelry for the wife 😜

Nipple rings are not gonna get you there... just sayin' :joyful:

Noob question : on average , how high of a jump is safe to jump in order to avoid instant carnage? Landing on short grass in the back yard.

The exposed pinion/spur on the 1/8 scale race-bred buggies makes me leery of ever owning one as a basher.

Tekno wisely encased them on their 'monster trucks' - a good move to appeal to the 'basher' market, IMO.
I run my RCs on a pebble infused backyard track. I was very leery of the whole Maybe, that's a big MAYBE, once a year I'll get a pebble onboard and strip a spur gear on my eBuggy. The same goes for my mini truggy, and SCT410SL platforms with the center diffs being out in the open. I get less crap in the SCT410SL chassis than the SCT410 2.0 chassis. The rear of chassis is open on the ET410 and SL rides

...and lets debris escape. This is just one reason why I prefer the SL over the SCT410 2.0 when it comes to Tekno's SCT offerings.

I followed the tool recommendations that were suggested earlier in this thread. Does this look good? Let me know if there’s anything else I should add to my cart.

Not sure since I didn't read all the way through. But 1 recommendation and @WickedFog can agree with this. Been using these dynamite red tools (1.5mm 2.0 and 2.5mm hex bits) for a long while now. I think almost 8yrs now. The tips are like brand new. Although the red on the actual handle is faded, but I prefer to use these over my longer bit Arrowmaxx tools. Pretty good for the price.

You recommend these over the Bondhus ones in my cart?

From my personal experiences with the dynamite ones, sure. But you do get a 6 set with the Amazon one rather with the dynamite red ones it's 3. I like to have lots of tools. I have at least 4 of each hex and nut driver lol.

One for the workbench/track. One spare tool kit. Another tool kit for outdoor bashing when I need something quick to fix. But you don't need to go all out like me lol

So in your opinion , the tools in the Amazon cart all look correct? I have the right ones I’ll need? Just wanna make sure.

And I already own these. Would I be able to use these for hex stuff?

MIP or Protek TruTorque SL hex drivers
MIP or Protek TruTorque SL nut drivers
MIP metric speed bits
Kingheadz TRUGGY 17mm wheel wrench
Weller Xcelite 170MN shear cutter
Protek aluminum body reamer
Protek curved lexan scissors
Tekno Multi-tool (shock tool)
Tekno Turnbuckle wrenches
EZRED KWP2 Kiwi Pliers

SHOULD have already/as well:

Dremel tool (variable speed)
1/4 drive rechargeable electric driver
GOOD soldering iron/station 85W minimum (Weller or Hakko)

Buy once cry once. It WILL save you money, and frustration.

Also (IF you invest in them) NEVER use ball end hex drivers unless you absolutely MUST. They will completely murder every screw you use them for.

Absolutely brother. I promise I’m not just trying to recommend baller tools… Subpar tools absolutely DESTROY vehicles. And ALL tools do over time-it’s the nature of the beast.. That being said, the ones I listed are exactly what I use personally after decades of using the ā€œwrong stuffā€.. As I mentioned above; the fustration-o-meter rarely even registers these days because of what I choose to use. šŸ»šŸ¤˜

Very nice. My wheels have 12mm nuts. So the Kingheadz 17mm wrench won’t work. And I can’t seem to find a Kingheadz 12mm wheel wrench. Any other brand you recommend?
