most would say i went backwards today. went from a 4 shoe clutch to a 2 shoe clutch on my RC10GT hopping to resolve an issue with it driving way to fast when just idling.
no clue if it worked, i decided to be lazy and let the loctite dry. also my glow ignitor isn't charged and i don't feel like plugging it in. don't feel like charging the battery for the starter box ether. and I'm low on nitro... ill try it next weekend.

Parts came in for the free to me nitro rustler. Rear springs, one way bearing and a pro graphics body. I finished it off with some “metallic blue.” Really wish I had backed it with silver, but I grabbed a can of black on accident. Turned out good enough for something I’m gonna run the piss out of 🤣

Test fired it and it popped right off despite it being under 60° today. She’s a runner!

This is my daughter's center diff on her MT410.3. How do you even do something like this? One of the gears is melted into the case sideways and the other one is split in half!!!!!!!! It's already been put back together.

Put some thicker oil in there and that’ll solve that problem. I’ve melted a few center diffs in the past just running grease or thin oil in them on high powered setups.

It had 500k in it. When I took it apart it was empty with a hole in the side. This wasn't a grind through, it was stabbed with something the diameter of a 2.5mm driver. A nail possibly? Whatever did it was ejected, I didn't find anything in the chassis.

1 down 5 more to go lol.

Got my Vitavon wheels in today for several of my Baja Rey trucks.

I was working on getting a set put together for my favorite BR2 the black and gold F100.
Was planning to set up one with gold wheels and black rings and the other with black wheels and gold rings.

Got one together tonight.

Would you adopt me? I promise I'll keep my room clean. :)

Receiver Boxes

Rustler OEM one cracked and the top part kept coming off/loose. Tried to fit a slash receiver box on it on the top plate for the steering because that's ideally the only place that can fit but it didn't work as the battery was hard to remove and the plate isn't a flat spot so receiver is out in the open right now till I get a new one. But I got a new one in the slash now. original RX box from 2015 and then a new one from 2025. It has a rubber cap now on top, guess for binding, and where you put the antenna/tube through, the plastic isn't threaded so I don't think you can put a lock nut on the antenna tube, if you want to run one.

This was last night. Today working on swapping out back to the 3652 motor in the slash for the track and replacing some bearings.

God put me on this earth so the rest of you would have someone to laugh at. So let's get it going.

Traxxas LCG 4x4 Slash.
I mounted a set of rear GTR shocks on the front and a set of front Tekno SCT shocks on the rear. They're mounted in the last hole in the a-arms. This has increased both droop and travel. The wider shock spacing on the a-arms is an attempt to increase the truck's stability. Will it work? I don't know, we'll find out this Saturday. If I like it I'm going to replace the rear shock tower with a front and pair it with a set of GTR XXL shocks. At that point the front and rear of the truck will be exactly the same. The Tekno MT48 is what put this idea in my head.

 allow me to show you the proper way to set up a rustler.
no stupid receiver boxes, ESC mounted low for better CG, easy battery access, no tape holding wires down.

I lubed a loud tranny today. It was my first time. Didn’t feel right. Didn’t feel wrong, either. One thing is for sure, it no longer squeals when I give it the beans!

And that folks is a lesson on why context is important.

Ok, cool.
But I do run in water, dirt, mud, ect. I don't wanna fry a 70 dollar futaba receiver... Because most receivers aren't waterproof, so that's why most RTR bashers use waterproof sealed boxes for them...? 🤷‍♂️

Also I mount my esc in the stock location because I can't put it on the side of the chassis due to all the screw locations. for whatever reason traxxas decided to put them there in the first place, idk why.

Our Rustlers are very similar, except mine is 11 years old and yours is a lot better looking.

If you run an aluminum front bulkhead it will add weight to the front of your truck and it will corner better. 6mm rear axles paired with some 17mm hexes will go a long way in putting down that power without stripping out your hexes. 2wd Rustlers are hot trucks, mine still gets driven regularly.

cut those stupid mounts off. and then go old school and put the receiver in a balloon. or if you're me in high school a condom :hehe:

Nothing beats a rubber and zip ties. Done that too many times.
