I see the Hammer Rey in your collection. How would you say it compares to the Baja Rey for balance and handling?
I have one I picked up when they were closeout priced while watching KOH on TV!
Yea, and great question , sort of in the same boat though,

I haven’t ran that one either, not yet anyway. I just got it yesterday. It took quite a bit of time to track one down.
I really wanted the red, I felt lucky to finally find one new old stock, and got it bought for $450.

I thought I had a green one bought last week from king cobra hobbies for 499, no tax and free shipping.
I think something might have happened to them, that order was canceled and no reason given, week or so later placed another order with them and same thing happened, tried reaching out to them, emails just bounce back,

The only other new one I know of for sale right now is in the green livery on eBay and with shipping and tax it was a couple hundred over what they retailed for prior to being discontinued.

I have watched a few videos in my Losi Rey family of RCs.
Seems like based on what I have seen in various reviews and comparisons, it’s lot more stable then it looks.

This is the new (used) right front door for our Infiniti.
The bottom of ours rusted out.
The 'new' door has a rust spot too but its goid enough for inspection and buys me time to find a perfect door later. šŸ¤ž
The new one had a tinted window and wrong outside door handle so I stripped it to swap out parts.

Car is outside in pouring rain. Not likely to get the other door apart until tomorrow.

Hopefully the swap will go smoothly.

Then to the brake job. šŸ˜Ž

looks like you're do for some new tires. :stick:
:hehe:
Uhm. no I'm not.
not until this happens. which won't be for another 2 years or so. I don't race sct regularly sooo...
Been running on that same set on the slash since early 2023... šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

For Those wondering, The tires @DavidB1126 have on his slash are clay slicks like Proline Bald Eagle, Jconcepts Smoothie and many others like them are made to be raced on clay tracks. They could also be run on the street but it's probably not recommended by the manufacturers of those tires.

Yea these are smoothie SCT in green compound. although not silvers since they were on backorder they hook up at my track pretty dang well.

On the mini b and reflex I just ran those tires in the street and alley to get them down to slicks and now I use them as the clay track set.

@Suburban_Hooligan is probably just jokin around. Like he always does. 🫠

You got that right, I'll be running Jconcepts or Prolines on my B74.1 when i convert it into a Clay car when we get moved out to Arizona next year. And ol' suburban is probably just joking it's sometimes hard to tell if it's a joke or not or just confused guy.

I had P-L Bald Eagles (trucks/MC) on my rustler. They were pretty good tires, before they made a running change in inserts. After they did that change, it made the tires not so good since their inserts were stiffer and made the tire have an air gap. I have a whole thread/rant about it somewhere on here. Plus PLs tire prices are more expensive than other brands, which is what I don't understand for the quality you get with them. Well, those were the OG Bald Eagles, I guess my angry email to them a couple months back made them redo the design and make a 2.0 version. Haven't yet and don't really want to test them as I just run with what I got so. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø Still run that set, really don't care that much since I only raced the rustler like twice before so it isn't a whole big deal. Some other brands that aren't that well known but are really really good is/are ProMotion, TZO, and RawSpeed. Theres a couple guys running TZO slicks at my track and they said the T1 grey compound works the best there, and it is gripped up.

Buggy wise, my uncle on his XB4, he got a set of Bald Eagle (MC) a couple years ago at BeachRC and it looked like he was just fine with it so.

Edit: track conditions also have a play in tire choice but its mostly the same across most clay tracks. Mine is more blue groove, glued/sealed, like asphalt on the race line, due to all the tire compound that gets wiped onto the track from tires, and rubber chunks. Compared to Hobby action in Arizona, theirs is more hardpacked dirt and they water it regularly. Although you can see the "blue groove" type clay forming on the race line but not that big of a line because they redo the layout and rip up the dirt for layout changes far more times than my local track does. Plus my local track late last year just did a huge change, where they redid the "layout", but they made the dirt all flat and used wood jumps now so they can to track changes easier and more constant/daily. Because before we had the actual dirt jumps and we would run on the same layout for like 2 years.
