And here we go again, new tires and wheels and she won't drive properly, For now I give up, back to the plastic lousy looking wheels.

Too much weight ? To thick a tire ? Nothing seems to be hitting, but it is a mess compared to pre change.

Oh well,
24th scaler? Are the wheels too tight?

Yes 24 Scale, wheels are not too tight, put on the plastic stock ones same tightness and it runs fine, weird one. My son got the Traxxas 1/18 Crawler, and he has done the wheels tires and more and no issues, everytime we try to do anything with the Axial 1/24 seems to be issues, wish I had just stuck with the Traxxas as well.

The aftermarket wheels for the SCX24 can cause some issues. Loosen your lugs just ever so slightly and see if it moves. The Treal +5mm wheel hexes are that way too. They put the groove for the hex pin too deep, and the back face of the wheel hex presses on the bearings and locks them up. If you have some small o-rings, you can put them behind the wheel and that may fix it.

Thanks for all the help, it will drive, it just does not drive well, wheel weight or tires seem to be making it waddle around, put on another set of wheels I had on my FMS FJ and same issue, I think maybe these Axials are not really meant to be upgraded much. No where near as good as the Traxxas TRX4M my son got. His does not look as nice but it is faster and he was able to do all kinds of upgrades with zero issues. Also this is my 2nd Gladiator, the 1st one the ecs failed in under 3 days, local very good Hobby shop replaced it.

They can be highly modified. Can you post a video of it? Here's a couple of ours.

Well, turns out maybe not the wheels, At the same time we were working on this vehicle, we traded out the diff covers for aluminum red ones, they looked the same, we just took those off and put back on the plastic black ones bamm, wobble gone, Drives like it did when new, before changes. Thanks for all the ideas. I would be careful when working upgrades on these 1/24 SCX24 vehicles, all the parts I got were made for the SCX24 and so far more than a few did not work, fitment issues on some.

Wrenched on my X8s. Put on some new shock springs from VG-racing in cal.
And a set of shock covers to protect the shock shaft and bottom seal from macs-costume-design on ebay also sprayed the covers with some WP to help. The fit nice

Welcome! Any more pics or info on this whip?
It has a Mamba monster X esc, castle 1515 2200 kv motor, savox servo futaba rx and tx. Several different Tyre setups, proline shocks, light bar and subtle tail lights. Built it because I wanted to get into club racing but decided it wasn't fast enough when I did take it out and bash it. Hence current setup. I'll find or take chassis pics later.

Great looking RC!

Omg my son would love heck I love this
Most boys would. Especially when that nitro motor roars to life. 😁 I had a bit of a hummer fetish in my younger days before bikes and diesel motors came about and found this one on the bay a few months back.
