A couple of days ago, I installed new Injora double barrel shocks onto the SCX24 Jeep. So, how did it perform? Terrible!
Even with the softest springs, the shocks sat fully extended, making the Jeep's ride height, way, way too high. A run on my crawl courses confirmed how bad this setup was.
Tonight, I put back the stock shocks, minus the springs. I installed them upside down for the sole purpose of placing the heavier end down low to help with lcg. A quick test indoors shows that the new setup is very, very promising.
What to do with those double barrel shocks? They're absolutely useless for their intended purposes, but they do look nice! So, I'd decided to convert them to "regular" shocks. I used gel CA to bond the lower barrel to the upper barrel.
I'll give it a day to fully dry. Hopefully, the CA will work to hold the 2 pieces together permanently. Time will tell.
Forgot to add: I just got this yesterday, and used it tonight. OMG it makes working on the SCX24 so, so much enjoyable! Using those tiny L-shaped .050 hex key is so labor intensive and time consuming. This driver paid for itself in the first 10 seconds of use!

Love my Dynamite drivers. I don't have that set though. Mine are the aluminum handled ones.

I properly rung in the new year, last night, by wrenching on my rc. The CA had fully cured and sends to be holding fine. I went ahead and installed these modified Injora shocks onto my red Deadbolt. No go! Just like when it was a double barrel setup, the modified version also binds like crazy.
So, I put back on the stock shocks, but with new modifications. I trimmed off the fake reservoirs, removed the springs, and mounted then upside down.
While I was messing with the shocks, I figured it would be a good time to install the new Injora aluminum high clearance links as well. Couldn't get it to fit right. Why? Because these links are for the Jeep and C10! This is why you need to fully read the product description when buying stuff 🙄

@Xraycer DOH! I know that feeling.

I just got a set of the injora high clearance links too. I have to wait until I have a minute to concentrate before I try to put them on. Now I have to go read the package and make sure I got the right ones!

Just flip the rig over, and put the front hc link next to the front stock ones. The Jeep and C10 have much longer front links than the Deadbolts.

Fixed my terrible soldering job on the esc connectors, changed the shock oil from 30wt to 60+ a little bit of 70 rear and 50 with a little bit of 60 in the front. Added more preload to the springs. It still hits the chassis from 5ft drop and I think I need to go heavier in the front. Still bounces a good bit.

It's a wet, dreary day here, so I did quite a bit of wrenching throughout the day.
Early this morning, while the family was still asleep, I went into my toy-cave and decided to swap around wheels and tires on the two FMS Atlas'.

After that was all done, I decided to install the new Emax servo onto the green Deadbolt. I got it was a packaged deal which included an Injora aluminum servo tray. The tray fit perfectly in place! Once the install was done, I went onto the backyard courses for a great run. The Emax had so much more power than the stock, which was struggling with the newly added weight and the huge, sticky RC4WD Scramblers. No problem moving things around now, and no problem tackling previously tough lines.

After dinner, I switched gears and wrenched on the LaTrax Rally. The LTR comes stocked with friction shocks. I ordered the Traxxas upgraded oil filled shocks. The rain had stopped, but the pavement was soaked and it was not after dark, but I wanted to see if the $50 was well spent or not. Indeed it was! The car drive much smoother without all the previous hard bouncing.

No pics yet. Minor touches on my scx10 ii. Old brushless in it until I get a program card.

Soldering up leds for the new ram 1500 crawler body. Hoping to have heavy fog soon, perfect for leds.
