I like what your doing with the wheels .... I was thinking of making some vinyl wraps of sorts for my oval car wheels .... they are rhe dish style jc buggy wheels and I was thinking of using a holographic vinyl in a swirl pattern... would be pretty distracting for other drivers lmao

That’s exactly why I did the “half skins” on my ROTM entry.. It looked super trippy on the track, and absolutely would catch your eye if you were on the track too..

Yes they did. They are really thick & beefy. Double shear steering post arm. But the caps on the pillow balls set up nice. Really easy, obviously. They have the same play as if I were to set up the previous style. There's only so tight you can go with the screw down type, which yields the same feel as these do. Now if these wear, idk what then. Replace the caps? Time will tell. I also have a spare set of the older style.

Sounds like you’re good then.. I’m not ultra familiar with the Arrma’s, but my Associated, and then Mugen (same shiit), Sworkz, and Xray all have nice delrin ballcups that back up against the adjustment cap. Do these have something similar, or is it just a single piece molded cap with a female “socket”?

Yep. All my Arrma have delrin ball cups seated in the aluminum adjustment cap. Much better feel than the stock nylon ones. These are just a cap. Put the pillow ball in, put down the cap. They are really tight & I couldn't get them all the way down with as much hand force as I could press with. Used a criss-cross pattern like wheel lugs, to seat them down fully. I imagine the aftermarket might provide aluminum caps with shims or delrin inserts at some point to have full adjustment.

They are really smooth & have no 'catch' spots. I did actually measure the pillow ball for & aft play before I installed the unit on the arms. One had 0.002" play, two had 0.003" & the last 0.004", best I could measure holding them straight & using my digital calipers. The one that's 0.002" feels nice. Even the last one felt fine. Push come to shove, if they wear out bad, I can punch marks with a center punch lightly inside the new nylon cap cup & sand smooth to gain a couple thousandths.

I have yet to tear it apart to see what all it needs, but I should have everything for it except tires. I even have quite a few spare parts for it. Funds are depleted this month, so I will have to order those tires in a couple weeks. The Doomsday build has 110% of my attention at the moment, and I also have the Hammer Rey to finish putting back together. Everything is here for it, but I'm having too much fun to swap the bench back over for that. That thing takes the entire workspace.

I cut some foam tires to width with this DIY contraption. Worked great, the widths are uniform and the sidewalls look flawless.

Some lightweight parts found their way into my vehicle, primarily because I like a quiet-running car. Here are the weights:

Thanks! I’ve only done four so far so I can’t say. The tires last so long that even if I need a new blade for each set of tires, it won’t ruin my finances.

I actually have very few possibilities to visit the track at the moment so I deal with the frustration by working on my car. I have a transmitter that doubles as a PC game controller in the mail and I’ve installed the VRC simulator to get some track time, even if it’s virtual.
