I bet this is going to be expensive.

Don't fly it over the runway, lol

transmited from a mobile communications device

Well I got it off the ground for the first time today. It got scared of heights and returned itself back to the ground very quickly and with a loud thud. New tail boom, landing gear, and canopy are now on order.

So at this point I have roughly $450 in this endeavour and I have roughly 5 seconds worth of flight time on the heli. When I said it was going to be expensive I wasn't expecting $90/sec kind of expensive :)

An mCPX is not a beginner heli. Try an mSRX BNF. They have the same stabilization system as the mCPX but are a fixed pitch and are a bit easier to learn to hover...

BTW Where are the pics of the carnage?

that's the fun of heli's...until you get the hang of them,........crash, fix, repeat !!!!!

No real carnage pics yet as I have put everything back together with clear packing tape. I did find a beginners guide to CP helis and have been trying to follow that instead of going outside and just thinking I could figure it out.

I actually was able to hover almost a full pack just now on my 12th pack. Problem is I have definitely hurt this poor little heli and I am not sure exactly what needs to be fixed. It is making a lot of noises that it wasn't making at first and it has developed quite a head shake and a pretty bad tailwag/shake.

I guess I am going to have to disassemble and figure out what to replace and then make a LHS trip.

I was about to say start with something else but since you can now hover keep at it, normally headshake is a feathering shaft and the bad tail wag might be a bent tailboom or the moter is wonky. Also check the links making sure they didn't pop out/in?

Well the tailboom was splintered and then reassembled with CA and some packing tape so I am sure it is probably the cause of the tail wag. As for the feathering shaft I have put the rotors into several immovable objects without hitting the throttle hold first so I wouldn't be surprised if it is bent. Bad thing is this heli is still flying pretty well with all of this damage.

I just bought a used msr... as my first heli, it's not easy. I was actually able to keep it hovering for over a minute last night in my living room. Then I flew past the air vent and it slammed into a wall.

I don't even know what the terminology means in the manual. WTF IS AN AILERON! lol

I know the feeling! I dont know the difference between my cyclic and my collective but I sure know how to hit everything in the house.

Or do the Rolex thing and just fly the thing without batteries yelling, "Whup... whup... whup..." while wearing no pants. =devil

Well now I dont feel so bad, in a two week span I mastered my lil Aries Chronos then came the mcx2 anthen the cx2, really thought I was good by then flying from room to room through doorways no crashes. Everything changed when I got the msrx about two later and u still havent even hovered yet. Back to the cars for awhile I reckon, waitn on a clocked p5 for my buggy and a ercm pipe for my truggy, helis has been grounded LOL!!!

It is still flying but will probably be shelved when my new 450x gets here from amain this week.

Then it will be unshelved when that rotor smacks the ground and the 450 esplodes? I only know from personal experience.:hehe:
