If you're able to return the BNF and get an RTF model, another $50 for the included DXS is worth it.

In my opinion, buying a new DXS by itself wouldn't be worth the price tag, you're most of the way to another plane that includes one. If you're not planning on buying more planes, there's no need for a fancier radio either, so you're in a bit of a conundrum with the BNF STS.

You should be able to find a lightly used DXS for cheap, probably from someone who bought an RTF and then upgraded to a higher end Spektrum radio and has the DXS extra now.

Thanks for the reply. That is exactly what I did. I found one on ebay for $70 shipped and bought it. That takes care of my probel.
