top important upgrades for a Slash Raptor 2WD??

The Traxxas 2wd platform in general is known for a few durability issues. Shock shafts bend, caps blow off and caster blocks break. The bell crank is a weak point as well if you run a straight servo horn or a tight servo saver.

Aside from the shock caps, the likelihood of those issues being a problem on a SCT with a big body that absorbs impacts and covers the wheels? Probably not very likely assuming you don’t bash it insanely hard. Those issues are more common in things like the bandit or the rustler since their wheels and control arms are exposed.

If it were me, I’d get some aluminum shock caps, a variety pack of springs and some shock oil. Cheap and effective. Playing around with suspension setups will keep ya busy and satisfy the itch in my experience. If you manage to break the caster blocks and bend a king pin, then I’d upgrade to a set of aluminum caster blocks. The LCG chassis is by far the best upgrade. You’re already on the right track. Less is more!

Imho, I wouldn't upgrade till you break that part. 🤷‍♂️ That's just me. But I have, well I call it, "built" slash. Here's my specs. Its pretty durable for my driving.
