I actually figured out the issue, but trying to figure out the best way to go about getting it properly place. Its the hall sensor positioning. I went and test the cdi in firing position with a voltage meter and that started lighting up so i started moving the hall sensor around while keeping a plug on a wire while grounding it, and got the plug to spark by moving the sensor around a bit. It just sits up against the underneath of where the inside of the distributer spins but on the outside, and held on with a small plate with 2 screws to fasten it so its easily mis alighned by the slightest bump so I'm gonna have to tinker with it a bit. Should i upload pics? I got the engine from sterlingengine.com but messaged them for any info on the workings and/or timing positions and distributor manual but havent heard from them in days.

There will be a specific place for the sensor you’re right bud, bit shocking the place you bought it from hasn’t replied too!
May have to be trial and error-there will be a centre point it works at then either side or will get worse to the point it won’t run. You will need to find the sweet spot at idle, then adjust for running at higher revs. Basically you’re gonna be advancing/regarding the ignition based on how it wants to run

Got this working
This just a image. Wont upload vid cus not supported

This is a different motor we got running. The other ones still giving us problems so we put it on the side for now. So i went and mounted this one up and took a short clip of it. Now we are going to build a mount display for it so we can fire it up whenever. Got a larger starter though for it that we used to use on a monster truck when i was younger. Still works well and should allow us to use the battery strictly to get the glow plugs going and not worry about burning out the starter that came with the motor. Eventually we will get something to put it in. Once i learn more about how to build an entire rc and what exact components ill need.

I’d love one of these bud, would be epic in the front of something road based so it looks more like a regular car lol good work still mate hope you get the other one working

Yeah i want to do the same. Its what we wanted to make a rock crawler out of but the chassis we got isnt low enough for the weight. But in the mean time, we like to play around in this(second image)

That’s cool AF mate! I want something like an escort Mk2 or something very retro to play with in the future, just cos I’d never afford a full size one really haha 😂

Its alot of fun.
Awesome mate looks like it takes off on throttle!!! She will be awesome out in the wilderness! Over here we aren’t allowed on public land apart from certain lanes, we struggle to have places to run off road properly or we would have to trailer it to tracks!

Side by side, started off life as forestry and farm vehicles, like a cross between a quad and a buggy, then evolved into these through racing series, awesome little machines bud I’d love a go out in one!

Is a side by side what the vehicle is called or what those canister looking things I circled are called? If the later then what is a side by side?

Yeah side by side or utv. We converted a uhaul actually and added a winch in the back, though the can am has one Built in on the front. But removed the ramp from center and added a second and made two slots on either side for them to slide into, and installed air suspension on the back. And for when we go to the dunes we have a conveyor belt we made into a strap like wrap around to put on the rear duallies so itll float on top of the sand and not get stuck so we can uhaul it onto the beach or wherever. Oh and we also got this little motor we are installing into a jeep.

Oh those are resevoirs for the suspension. Its a Can am maverick xrc turbo RR rock crawler setup. Theres a mudding one to but the rr is the top performing one of the cam am models thats a 2 seater. Theres also 4 seaters. The doors are suicide doors so they open backwards.

Oh they are a blast. Yeah growing up we drove odysees all the time. One my dad put a suzuki katana street bike engine in one and man it was awesome. They are single seater sand rails. But yeah they did start out kinda like a mix between a golf cart and john Deere transport vehicles. Then yeah evolved
