So here is my Duratrax axis Frankenstein car- bought as something to play with for me and the kids, with an airplane wing tank and modified shell using one of the kids old battery powered plastics!
We call it shadow and it does well for its age, just awaiting some new front arms coming through the post and needing to source a new front bulkhead which is impossible atm 😂

Quick Update from the other day;
So I’ve broken something else on the Frankenstein Axis (AKA Shadow)!
Think I’m going to make a copy out of steel plate and see if that is a better replacement!!

So had a bit of spare time today so i thought I’d do a few jobs on Shadow...

Stripped front end down first...

Changed out the bottom arms for the new ones...

Stripped open the front diff while I had it out and was totally surprised at how good condition the gears look!!!

Removed broken shock tower, temporarily glued it back together and traced it out on some 3mm steel plate ready to cut and drill later...

Now more waiting for money and spare time lol

Looks like you were on a roll, sucks when you have to pause, hard to get started again.
Yeah it can be bud, just finding time to do it atm with having a lot on lol 😂
Projects are always cool and enjoyable but even more so when you get to come back to them.
Can’t wait to get it back together and get on to my pick up project, not sure wether this will get it or the camper will, want to see how the camper runs first but I think the parts have been dropped off to the local collection point today’s so that won’t be far away!!!
