I can't look at this and not think of our good friend @Rolex
Oh man, you're right. I can't believe i forgot he had a build almost just like this. All patinated and everything. I wonder if I can dig a pic up

Rolex called this "The Ugly Truckling". I never noticed theres a pup under the stepside <3

Like the 2 stroke detroit diesels, I'm sure there is a tiny handful of these left. Hurts thinking of the wrecked or scrapped ones.

Now I want to hit youtube and find more videos of that thing! I'd assume there's some sort of stop in it so the it only pivots so far, no? Surprised they didn't use bearings... but I guess they do use bushings a lot on 1:1 stuff, just have grease zerks to keep them lubed so they don't wear much.

He sure was a talented guy. Always enjoyed following his build threads. The detail and time he'd put in was just amazing.

So what happened to Rolex?
I never really asked exactly what happen. All I know is he passed. Ralph was probably one of the most knowledgeable guys in this forum. It didnt matter if it was electric, nitro, car, truck, plane, heli, boats or RC motorcycles. He was into it all. He was also extremely talented builder. He had some amazing kits. He had a great sense of humor and like to cut up. Just an all around great guy. He is a huge loss to the forum.
