Last year, I gifted my oldest son an Arrma Vendetta... and since then, he's bugged me to add a speed-runner to my own collection. Honestly they just really don't do much for me, but I thought a dual-purpose machine might be OK... but there aren't a lot of good candidates out there, IMO.

Today I dropped the hammer on a machine I hope (with a tire and pinion gear change) will beat the pants off the Vendetta and then can be useful off road after that. Time (and a bit of experimentation) will tell.

Can't say much about it but recently, a number of kids in @DavidB1126 area have been complaining of an R/C "hold up".
A scary monster truck with a big speaker slams them in the ankle and demands milk money...
The matter is still under investigation.
