Add me to the tinnitus club, worked around noisy equipment for 30+ years now, and it's taken it's toll, who would have ever guessed the lack of sound could be so loud. I sleep with an air purifier in the bedroom just for the white noise it makes.

It's something I feel should have been stressed a lot more when I was young, how annoying tinnitus is 😫

Missed this somehow. Sitting here with ears ringing like crazy at the moment. My tinnitus first became annoying about 2 years ago. Now my TV plays 24/7. When there is no sound, I go nuts. Feelin ya bro 😉

So today I received the rest of the parts I need to build my 2nd favorite childhood car, except the car kit itself. The Kyosho Beetle is rarely produced anymore, so I decided to take a Turbo Scorpion and convert it. I now have the Beetle body, body mounts, chassis tub with cover, wheels, and rear tires. Coming soon, but with a very different paint scheme...

I lost my right ear at about age 14. Being around race cars and motorcycles engines then after forty years I lost 80% of my left ear and have always had moderate to severe tinnitus. After loosing my left ear I went and got a set of dual hearing aids.

Not only can I hear again and watch TV with out disturbing other people watching or having to ask what did he say? I also have very mild tinnitus.
You might want to look into hearing aids. They helped me out.

I never thought of that, but I live alone and don't have to worry about the tv bothering anyone else.

By TV I mean U tube on my phone. I don’t actually have a TV.
The hearing aids are blue tooth to my phone.
So phone calls and google map directions U tube videos are all directly to my hearing aids.
I also have a feature called live listen. I can put my phone down and move away and hear what the phone hears. Or I can use my phone and direct the area I want to hear.
Also had noise cancel for wind noise it loud stuff.

Thats some 007 shiznit right there! You could really mess with your coworkers that way lol

When I first got them I was amazed. First off I could hear. But to be able to direct my area of listing is fascinating.

Also the world is a very noisy place, it not just people talking. I had no idea about all the little squeaks bumps and bings that go on all the time. Fans, wind, the floor creaks when people walk on it .who new?

Does anyone remember back in the '80's when Kaybee Toys had a toy looking version of one of these? It was blue, red, and yellow if I remember correctly. Looked like a Fischer Price toy.

There were some firemen standing outside a small fire dept where my mom was visiting a friend playing with one. You could hear a mouse fart from about 3 blocks away.

For some strange reason it was only on the shelves for a few weeks 🤣🤣🤣

The silence becomes deafening. Mine developed back in 05/06 shortly after playing in the sand box. It has progressively gotten worse. Sometimes I'll be mid conversation and it punches up to 11. It's almost impossible for me to sleep without some type of background noise.

Man that is really cool looking. I've always liked seeing the old super Beatle builds. You should start a build thread on it.

That's rough man. I definitely take more precautions now than I did when I was younger. No one really talked hearing protection when I was younger.

TInnitus is a big reason I try and shoot all suppressed these days. Luckily, I still have my hearing although reduced, but get the annoying REEEEEEEEEEE from time to time in my left ear, as well as a pop, and greatly reduced hearing for a while after that.

Found a broken bulkhead on my xmaxx... So more parts 🤣

At this point, I should just buy a second xmaxx.. I hate it here.

You order that from Jenny's?

I get that in both ears. Reeeeeeeee pretty much desribes it lol. Then there is popping like tiny bubbles exploding as they break the surface, but at about 100db. But the popping thankfully is a rare thing.

Amain. Jenny's was out of a few things

I guess concentrating on the house with the remodeling projects, taking a break from buying RC stuff was a really ridiculous statement.

For the Deadbolt 24...

I saw a dude set up road side out of a mini van. Had a 2 or 3 footer set up. Had to go by him and check him out.
