Was it originally green?
No, it was originally the same Ford Light Pewter color I painted it back to (Paint Code 'V' as found on the door sticker, as well as when I pulled up the carpet.

I had originally thought of going with Grabber Yellow, like the one I fell in love with in high school:

But when I saw this one, and found the original color was Light Pewter, I decided to go back with the original colors.:

Then I found out that everybody around town had those Torque Thrust rims, so I decided to go with old school Cragars.

that's just the fender badge, it's actually got a smog laden 305 in it :hehe:
:stick:
Don't you he making fun of my Smograbog Quadrajet nightmare!!!
My 85 Blazer had almost 170hp stock!!! That an 3.08 gears was about the lamest truck ever built! 🤣

It NEEDED the 454 in it!!!
(it only got a 400 tho) 😎

The quadrajet was a very good carb IF you knew what to do with it!

toss it and replace it with a Holley?
No! C'mon, Holley bought out the quadrajet manufacturer. Why? Because they were better than Holley back then, it was a threat. Holley was dog sh!t untill they purchased some better designs. My dad has a 68 SS396 Chevelle with the QuadraJet. I bought him a David Vizard book and that thing is tuned very well. The only thing out there that is better would be an EFI/TBI, which is now Holley.

I always thought edlebrocks were a bit of knock off quadrabog by appearance anyways.
An edlebrock USED to be a good bolt on and go replacement for quads. 🤷‍♀️
Its been a while since I worked on a carbed small block now.

I hear what you are saying about thek being good carbs. They were fine in the 70's but the second "computer controls" got involved, they were JUNK!

You are right about the electronics, the late 70's-80's smog stuff was a complete fail. EFI though, is a very good thing. TBI, MPFI, EFI, all good.

Its amazing how well those engines ran without GM having a direct link to the computer at all times! 🤣
