I've been eyeing this Injora SCX24 aluminum chassis for awhile, and finally ordered it last week. At a price of less than $18, it was too enticing!
It arrived earlier this week, and I've been trying to decide which direction to go with this build. I'd decided to temporarily use my SCX24 Deadbolt, Redrum, to bring this rig to life. However, as the build got started, I noticed that the chassis just wouldn't sit right with the Deadbolt's links. The Injora chassis was designed for using the SCX24 Jeep/Chevy design.
With the end of the work week, I spent the evening constructing, RigorMortis.
The chassis is nicely finished, but came without any instructions. There are many predrilled holes, so it does give you the flexibility to customize your setup. It took me about 5 hours to complete a fully running rig. While the build was somewhat simple, these small scales are just time consuming to wrench on.
The rig consisted mostly of my stock C10. I did upgrade to an Emax servo, and used wheels/tires from my 1/18 EazyRC Glacier(K10). No brass has been added. I want to see what this setup is capable of, as is.
Today, I got to test RigorMortis on the home courses, and I am very happy with it's capability already. Once the upgrades starts going in, this crawler should just be getting even better.

Yesterday, I took my diy weighted wheels off my EazyRC Arizona (Jeep), to see how RigorMortis would perform with a significant lcg. The weighted wheels came in at 40g each, as opposed to the 18g wheels that was initially installed.
Much more stability, but also much heavier overall weight. Crawl performance greatly improved, but it felt a bit sluggish. Most likely from the big weight increase. However, it was able to accomplish a line that none of my other rigs have ever been able to come close to doing.
Later on that evening, I removed the rear weighted wheels, and reinstalled the 2 original non-weighted wheels. I donned the headlamp and headed out to the backyard courses. Definitely has more zip to it now, and the crawl performance also improved. Spots where I typically have to use speed to clear, I was now able to slow crawl across.
Very happy with results, so far, but will still keep experimenting to fine that sweet spot.

Today, I added brass hex extensions, taken from Redrum. I'm also retrying the Injora double barrel shocks, this time, in a different configuration, and only in the front.
RigorMortis is now running a full droop set-up. Initial indoor testing is promising!
I think I will keep the FMS/EazyRC tires. While these tires are decently soft, they are no where grippy like RC4WD. I am going to try SXT Slime tire conditioner to see if I can get them really grippy. I'm hearing really good things about this product.
Lastly, I rearranged the wirings to gets things more clean looking, and I added some stickers to make break up all that blackness.

@Xraycer I notice you've changed stands. :hehe::hehe::hehe:
Picked up that mini crate from the Dollar store this past weekend. Funny thing is, I initially bought it to make a shock stand out of it by simply drilling 4 holes. Then I come to find that it makes a fairly tall, sturdy car stand for the SCX24s.
Now, I have to go back to the store to get another one 😂

@WickedFog

The rear "hybrid" shocks on my SCX24 RigorMortis was not working the way I liked it, so I went a different direction. I t reassembled the other pair of Injora double barrel and installed them in back. With the shocks now positioned much more horizontal, they function much, much better than the first go around.
RigorMortis now is a full-on belly dragger.
I am very happy with how well this rig is crawling!
