What would you say the main driving factor of migration is?

I always hear that everything is "so much more expensive" there compared to mainland USA, is that true?

Yes and no. Depends on where you live in the mainland. I don't find Hawaii any more expensive than say NYC or LA, or Boston.
Also, many tourists gets funneled into the tourist trap areas of Hawaii, where the prices are jacked up because of the tourist clientele. Locals don't shop at tourist trap areas/businesses. Many things are higher cost just because of the high shipping cost due to the long distance Hawaii is from the mainland. Same is true with Alaska.

Well, most people, born and raised, in Hawaii do stay. What I was referring to are mainlanders who move there, and initially fall in love with the weather and natural beauty of the island chain. Hard to believe, but the perfect weather and natural beauty does get old after awhile. But, I think what makes it hard to live there permanently, for a majority of transplants, is the huge distance from where they've come from: their family and roots.

wHorizon is dangling a juicy carrot in front of me and i don't like it. damn green and red Quake grom is on sale for $130 right now (with battery and charger). id rather have the purple one. and id rather have a Granite grom. i don't really need another small scale RC. but the 1/18's i have are older and out dated and getting a little hard to find parts for and aren't really that great and iv never really cared for the way they drive (especially after going brushless) so at least in theory i need to replace them.

Wife and I are going to court tomorrow for a final protective order against a psychotic neighbor who screamed threats at my wife in front of my kids playing outside. Then followed up the threats with two separate visits to our house in the middle of the night to write slander about my 10-year-old daughter on the sidewalk in front of our house and to throw trash in our yard. There's way more to the story, but I despise drama, so I'll leave it at that. Just wish us luck, please!

Court led nowhere. The neighbor hired a lawyer who essentially spoke over my wife and I the whole time it was our turn to speak. I wasn't allowed to show any of the evidence I brought: Ring footage, pictures, or the body cam footage of the sheriff responding to her house that night (she was completely black out drunk). It was so much fun. I could tell from the beginning the judge was annoyed by the case. He threw it out. I'll take the L on that one.

BUT! I'm a red, white and blue blooded American and I believe in legal justice...

The neighbor is a renter. Property deeds are publicly available information. I poked around a few county websites, and I was able to locate the contact information of the homeowner. Called her up and explained all that had happened and shared my videos with her. A couple days go by and she called to inform me that their lease has been cancelled and their move out date is 5/1. The moving truck pulled in a few hours ago and they're on their way out.

Moral of the story: FAFO

this has been pissing me off for months now. the wires on my ear buds are dried out and stiff. so when i turn my head the buds pop out. annoying AF to say the least. the last probably 4 pair have had this problem. idk why I'm having such a problem with dried out insulation on headphones the last probably 7 or 8 years. i still have headphones from the 90's with good wires. wtf changed in the last 25 years to make headphones suck?

Next time build a payload drone. Randomly drop things from 100' up in key locations

Honestly, I think we just got a peepee-head judge. The clerk, the magistrate, and the sheriffs all told me to bring the footage to court. I was fired up that day I took the stand, let me tell ya. Felt like everyone was against us when we were just trying to protect ourselves from a crazy B.

I agree on the flock cameras being ridiculous, but we entered the surveillance age the second we all started using smart phones. Our phones are way scarier than flock cameras.

I agree. I have been fighting the cell battle for at least 5 years. I think it is no coincidence that some of these alphabet, big brother companies are getting away the things that they do.
Info buys LOTS of pretty things and ugly ppl.

I am aware that I can't stop it all but I sure can try. No reason to give in.
