i just love it when a customer calls at 11am for a quote. gets told the quote, gets told we don't have them in stock and they have to be made. then calls back at 1:30 and doesn't order 1. they order 16 and want same day shipping.
made even more fun when the 16 they want is a pain in the ass to make. so yeah, got that going for me right now.

We get the same crap in the printing industry.

In the large-scale manufacturing world, we have a planning department that handles coordinating orders with production.

It's the only department in the corporation where you can get it wrong every day and still keep your job. :hehe:

This rain sucks for Daytona we only did 11 full laps so far and the rest (now 21 laps) is under the pace car.
Motorcycle road races run during rain, and at least once, snow. (Schedules for races avoid winter, but it was snowing during racing at Roebling Road, near Savannah.) I could not afford rain tires, so ran regular street tread all the time.

Daytona 200 got rescheduled ONCE in history about 25 years ago; very hard rain and the wind was so strong that the officials / corner workers kept getting blown over.

I was racing at Moroso (Jupiter, Fl) with astonishing amount of lightning. I pulled off track and went and hid in my motorhome. After lightnin storm I went and had words with the top official and he said "you think lightning can hit a bike going 130 mph?" I could not think of anything to say to that that would not get me permanently banned.

I watched nascar back in the 70's & 80's. These days the daytona 500 is 480 mile parade followed by a 20 mile race.

AMain tracking goes as fallowed.
order placed Sunday. get email confirmation with estimated delivery time of Friday.
order shipped Monday.
Tuesday no update.
today get an email stating my order will be later than expected and now it'll be here Saturday. check USPS tracking and they've got it listed as being delivered Thursday.
so... 🤨 it says it left Sacramento at like 1 something AM today. and got into Anaheim at 3:30ish PM. so now the question is, will it take 24 hours or 2 days to deliver?

Me personally I don't follow the listed delivery date on the AMain site, I just follow the USPS site dates since the info transfer between USPS and AMains sites are a bit delayed.

If you have a USPS account linked to your address you can sign up for emails for when you receive packages or mail.

That's the norm now. It used to come out of Northern Cali, but now, just about all shipments come from back east. It's really annoying. I keep thinking I will get in within a few days, but then I get that "Your order will be later than expected" notice. Now, I just buy it on Amazon if I need it faster.

it shipped from Chico. and i don't need it until Saturday. I'm just shipping it to my work cause it's an expensive order so Saturday delivery isn't going to work. luckily its going to require a signature so if it does show up Saturday it won't be delivered. ill get it Monday.
