I have ordered from China a number of times, and it's never taken more than about 6 weeks. A lot of times I get it within 2 weeks.
That's because Indiana is so close to China 🤪

I sell quite a bit of items on eBay. Just in the past 2 weeks alone USPS has lost 2 of my mailed packages. So now I'm out $50 worth of items. Needless to say, everything will be shipped UPS/Fedex now no matter the price difference.

Also, some advice if you're selling on eBay, if your sold item arrives even one day later than the expected delivery date then per eBay policy the buyer is entitled to a full refund. I nearly lost $300 on a Jato a few months ago.

It's getting harder and harder to justify selling on eBay. I know for sure I will never list anything over $50 ever again.

Also smoothbrain buyers leaving you negative reviews for things that you have no control over.

Had the same problems like that twice. Learned not to sell on there ever again.

Whoever bought my old radio wanted a 50 dollar refund because it had issues. But he didn't read my listing all the way as I clearly stated it was only meant for use in mini cars indoors or for testing purposes only. 🙄

Its unfortunate that sellers can get taken advantage of.
If the item shows up a day late and the seller wants a refund, you get your item back, correct?
Shipping costs and time is enough that I'd only be happy with one and done sales too. I'm just asking if you got your Jato back if the sale fell apart.
I had a guy "loose" a bunch of parts he had listed on ebay.
I payed paypal (didn't come into play tho)
He refunded me the money and it was back in my account in a few days.
I even reached out to ask what happened. There was no problem though.
Years ago I sold an amplifier on ebay. Guy got it and claimed damage but refused to document the damage.
He wouldn't send me pictures of the damage so I sent him pictures of his refund.
Ebay took it from there but I never lost a dime.

as long as the package is listed as ‘returns accepted’ the buyer is required to send it back. If not listed for returns then the buyer just gets to keep the item which is absolutely obsurd. Selling on eBay is a poop show. They hardly ever back the seller. I’ll never sell anything of actual value on there again.

Wow! Yah, that would equally be one and done for me!
I understand sometime things don't work out but I would drive to the dudes house and rip the controller out of his hands if ebay screwed me like that.
I don't take loss well i guess but there is NO chance I would watch THAT happen!
I buy a lot on ebay because there isn't an "antique Kyosho parts store" anywhere that I can find. Even if there was, the fact that its a bunch of sellers competing to sell, keeps prices down.
I guess I've been doing it wrong.
I bought a used Optima Mid. It had a story but it was listed as used, not parts.
The chassis is bent and the "smooth" feeling transmission was missing a bearing. Gear teeth are worn at an angle. The diff housing output was worn so that the rotation of the output shaft wobbles.
There was nothing SMOOTH about this trans.
Should I attempt partial refund or worse, now the guy wants me to return it back... Its in 89 pieces on my kitchen table right now. Damage just uncovered.
I bought a "new" out of package one-way diff.
It felt like it was packed with sand when I got it but not a mark outside to indicate used.
Inside, black oil and grit removed, now operates as should.
How much is that worth?
I feel like if I push for those small things, it contributes to the larger problem that you are currently dealing with.
Maybe I'll change my name to Karen and buy a lifted minivan??? I want to be a problem too!!!
Ppl are looking for everything for nothing. When it doesn't fall from the sky into their laps, ppl want to get PAID.
Ebay is only a small part of this imo.

I stopped selling on eBay when I got scammed on a transmitter. I even had a link to YouTube showing it working and everything. Two days after it arrived, the buyer started a return claiming it was broken and sent me back a completely different remote. I also stopped selling on Mercari because the fees are crazy now.

Yeah I’m sticking with FB marketplace and PayPal friends and family from now on even selling. Or just selling to my local community

I used to sell used auto parts. I have seen and heard just about every scam or trick there is to try and scam a seller.
The difference being, no middle man ebay.
I warrantied my parts for 91 days. I was good about testing my parts so I knew what I was selling.
If I sold a fender, I went to the fender and noted any dents or rust that might be an issue with the shop buying it.
Being thorough counts.
Also there was the fact that it all had to be done in person. Scumbags find it easy to hide behind a computer screen and start problems. Not so much when its face to face and I might just hit back.
I also wouldn't hesitate to grab a hammer to put a big dent in that fender if someone was busting my balls, trying to grind me on my prices. "There you go. NOW its a $50 fender."
I went from that to installing pro audio and lighting. 🤣🤣🤣
Ebay return policies don't apply there either!
Funny though, we did an install for a club and it was a nightmare.
It dragged on forever because tgey kept changing the plans so ALL the equipment needed swapping to handle more rooms, channels, inputs etc...
Finally finished and now they are totally happy with the system!
Time to pay and they don't want to pay for the labor to adjust for all the changes they made along the way.
This means no pay for Mikey!
I told my boss there was no priblem.
I would be there in the morning to put ALL the gear and the 90 miles or wire we snaked in a big pile on their dance floor. Free!
We had our check that week.
Its the middle man and the protection/isolation that makes bad ppl doing bad things feel like there are no repercussions and nothing to loose.
Its a sh*tty double edged sword!

I know someone who got scammed $600 recently from a camera they sold on ebay all the buyer did was said they never received it even though tracking showed it was delivered made me not want to sell anything on ebay just from that
I keep hearing and seeing stories like these and I can't help but think that trying to live honestly (as best I could) has served me poorly.
I would be rich and sh*tty right now if I did things differently.

So um. I'm just going to copy my text from the friend group and I want to know what you think of this. Short summary of this, was at a local car show and this guy came up to me because I had the slash with me. Want to know what y'all think of this and if this is sketchy.

:
So apparently met this guy and he was looking for people with his same interests. Guess he caught my eye because I brought the slash. He said he has a brushed senton. He liked my slash. He brought me to his car to "show him his senton" but his whole family was there and they just left. I'm like what?!? And before all of that we exchanged info so he has my number and he wants to meet up for a bash day or whatever/ whenever. And then he just texts me saying it if we can call later. Idk what y'all think about this but I think he is a bit sketchy. Plus I'm like. Just like, text me. I don't like to call.

He said he lives up in north west MD and I'm like, sure I might be able too. But in my mind, we should just meet up at my track when I go for a race day. Much more easier for me and less sketchy sort of.

Not to be mean or anything, but he was.. what's the better word, African American, and disabled. But I'm thinking if we meet up at the track idk if he can be there because of the stairs that are there.

50/50
Probably ok. What condition was his Senton in? How old you guess the guy was?

I would never suggest that you not be cautious... BE CAUTIOUS!
But that said, it sounds like maybe you just met a nice person 2ho has similar interests and he struck up a convo.
It might seem weird because there was no computer interaction or a profile to check out.
If this guys isn't a racer, he prob never goes to a track and doesn't know many ppl who run r/c.
I don't know many either.
If I saw someone running a car, I would prob try to say hi too.
Maybe you could ask if he's got a FB or whtever?
You should be meeting in public places to run your r/c though. 👍🏻

I never saw it! He just left! Asked to see his senton and he said he had it in the car but they just left 🤷🧐🤔

True. I'll ask him if he has something like IG. More safer than sorry

Yah, not seeing his car was a big detail to leave out.
IF he contacts you, ask for a social media or something WITH history (not a 3 day old account) showing this dude with r/c cars.

I figure even if he had a banged up car, as long as it looked like it was used recently, its not missing the control arms and shock towers... he's prob running it still at least.
No car is no go!
