I guess I'll carry on with a rant...
I got my Hocus Focus all buttoned up and on the floor. Used trans installed and ready to start car, fill fluid, test drive...
I open the garage door, sit down in the drivers seat and turn the key on.
I get the gauges clicking and lights flashing, fuel injection reached proper pressure and stopped... yay! Ready to turn key... right???
CLICK!!!
And out comes the magic smoke from my 270k mile starter.
This is extra annoying since I had the starter unbolted from the car and in my hands a few hours earlier. The intake manifold is on top of the starter so I took the whole damned thing apart... again.
Here's the super best part...
From parts stores:
New starter $230+$10 core charge,
Reman starter $209 (why only $20 difference?)
Now the kicker...
Ebay:
$35.00
It will be here next week.

I was just about to charge up some batteries for my mini Infraction 3s so my son had a road basher to run with my Infraction 6s. Removed the body and found this mess. I forgot it was in this state. Oh well, time to put it back together. Let's see what's missing.
