Is it bad that I don't want to solder anything lately?

I've got a couple/three projects needing soldering (just esc's to motors and some connectors) and I'm like, oh wait, there's a light bulb out in the house. I'll do that. Dishwasher? Yes. Laundry. Yes. Wash car. Yes. Solder? No I don't know why. Bah.

Or I'd rather tape up a body for painting. IDK. I'm getting old.

I dont think I've ever participated in this rant thread but today, I want to rant about something and my wife is tired of hearing about it so it's rctalks turn.

Why are kids so stupid? I, as a parent, worked tirelessly to teach my child to make good life decisions, to stay on the right path, and to make choices that will benefit her future. Then she turns 18 and now suddenly, she's smarter than me, knows everything there is to know about being an adult, and thinks her parents are just stupid. It's like watching a train barreling down tracks that lead to a giant hole in the ground and there's nothing I can do stop it, just watch.

If anyone reading this is considering having children, DONT! Just get a dog, or a cat, maybe a lizard. It's far easier in the long run.

My kid doesn't listen to me at all. He's 12 going on 19. I just hope at least some of what I tell him sinks in.

I hear ya brother. I raised 3. From 17-22 can be frustrating. My youngest is 22. Around 23-24, they come around & apologize for it. Dad, you were right. All of mine have. My oldest turns 29 this year. The 22 year old graduates college in a couple months. She's actually been the easiest of all 3. The middle one- I thought I was gonna choke him 1000 times, he was the hardest & stubborn as a wart. But he came around & even said Dad you were right. I take lots of naps these days, making up for some frustrating times. It was worth it.

Hang in there brother. They love & respect you, they are just trying to prove themselves to you & mostly to themselves- they just don't know that yet & are looking for approval but argue about anything. Little turds. I did it to my dad too.

With my three sons, I've found, the older they get, the smarter I get (to them).

I'm a little bit annoyed. Ordered some parts for my Nitro Sport restoration from a HS on ebay which I've been using a lot recently. They seem to stock a lot of old discontinued parts.

One of the orders was over a week ago but it still hasn't been posted. I have ordered more from them since then and they too haven't been posted. I gave them the benefit of the doubt even though it says they will ship within 1 business day.

I contacted them yesterday to see if there was an issue. He replied that they don't have one of the items in stock.

Why did it take over a week for them not to tell me and why did I have to contact them? Why did they hold all the other parts and other orders? The other parts would have arrived by now if they have of posted it on time.

Bad communication and business practices from the seller. I will still use them but it is disappointing.

my rant is i let my wife talk me INTO a nap. just woke up at 12:00 am..... slept 4 hours. now I'm up the rest of the night for sure... guess whos gonna end up doing bored cleaning... guess that"s the good part.. that or i doom scroll for 4 hours like a zombie.....
i hate even a ten minute power nap, it throws my whole cycle off kilter.
most of my projects are on hold waiting on mail. which was a whole other rant but I'm not getting into the mail drama.
everyone's asleep and I'm just wired for sound but gotta be silent lol

So I've been using a combination of shipping and delivery from Walmart for my grocery items for years now. Today I noticed I could no longer use shipping. After about 20 minutes in support chat that was going nowhere, my dumbass came up with a way to check to see if it was something Walmart did to my account. I created another account with a different email to see if I could order shipping. I used all the same info. Same phone number, address, store, etc. Just a different email. Sure enough, I could order shipping.

So I go to log back into my other account, and it says I need to add a new phone number because my current one is in use on another account. So I delete that other account, and it still won't allow me to use my phone number. So I get on the phone with customer support. Apparantly, I cannot use that phone number for two weeks!

So I ask why was I able to add that phone number to the account I just created? No clue. Support said if after two weeks, if it doesn't work, I will have to create a new account using a different email. How the #### is that going to work??? I swear this world gets dumber every day. So pissed right now.
