I bought 10 of these for the 6x6 because the springs on those shocks could hold up a 1/10 Slash.

I bought 7mm diameter by .3 wire diameter and 25mm long. I probably should have ordered a range of them because the diameter showed up a tad bigger than 7mm. But the .3 mm wire diameter is a lot closer to the stock spring rate than any of the aftermarket sptings I have.

Not only is there no fluid, theres not even pistons. Its just a screw thats smooth except for the end.

Ill point out also that the 43mm double barrels you showed me are also friction shocks. They work fine on these small trucks.

Alot of folks are running the 39mm oil shocks without oil (well more like a single drop for slickness). They just tend to be smoother. More consistent.
The latest versions of the scx24s come stock with oil shocks. My scx24s bronco from 2022 came with friction shocks, and those DO only have a screw in them. I'm pretty sure the micro b uses the same style of shock as the new scx24s. I remember looking into that upgrade when the v2s came out with spektrum electronics. I could totally be wrong, but I did a lot of research on it. Ill double check though.

Yep, I was correct. Just found this on the website.

I've bought a couple basecamps recently and both of those still have friction shocks (1 of them was literally 2 weeks ago for my son). My trucks in build from scratch so I havnt kept up a ton in a couple years.
I know the power wagon had oil shocks for sure.
And I know the summit jeep comes with proline big bores stock.

Thats all the relevant info I've got lol.

The injora 39mm oil shocks are what's hot in the builders world of scx24's right now.

Ah gotcha. I guess the Lexus came with the oil shocks stock, but Basecamp does not. Kinda makes sense, as its a budget option from axial to get into micro crawling.

Funny because its 95% the same parts as every other scx24 😂

I've got an orange c10 in the cart, maybe ill go look and see what it actually has. That 1 will be for 1 of my other boys. Their upgrades are their problem 😁

New wheels and tires are installed
58x24 Swamp Stompers
Silicone inserts
Beadlock wheels w/ brass ring

Quite a big difference in clearance and track width. Also its gained a good amount of weight. 5mm ntass hex extenders are on the way for even more track width and low weight. Also still have some brass knuckles for the front and a different cover for the rear but I might wait on them to see how it does without. Really wanting to keep extra weight to a minimum.

Didn't even think about pinion sizing with the taller tires and added weight. Not sure if thats possible on these anyway. Wonder how long this little motor will last under the new giant load lol

Oh also the first video is up. I think for the next one ill pick a line thats pretty challenging, and then upgrade until I can hit that line. Rather than just multiple misc crawling lines.

So I had mentioned lack of flex previously in the thread. @BustedAw11 DM'd me and provided some insight on how shock inclination can help provide some more travel. I was able to find some spots on the stock chassis that I could use to make some inclination and ended up gaining about .5" of extra flex (thanks homie)
Had to remove the body to make room for the extra travel. The rear shocks will require a shim or two to level out the ride height. Also went ahead and removed the bumpers for more clearance, and factory rock sliders because the tires I have coming wont clear them.

Quite a bit on order
1" injora beadlocks w" brass rings -4.4mm offset
58x24mm injora swamp stoppers
Injora silicone tire inserts
AXSPEED Aluminum high clearance links
Injora IR60 bumper set
Brass steering knuckles (might leave off until brushless conversion)
Brass diff cover for rear or front diff depending on if i run the brass knuckles
6mm brass hex extenders
Comp crawler body (similar to the proline cliffhanger)

I think the new body is going to be the biggest upgrade. The Lexus body is nice, but pretty top heavy and limiting on tire clearance.

Also will probably have to figure out some body mounts. But might just be able to use the goofy hinge system that comes stock. Ideally I would like a classic pin style body mount system.

Did a little research on portals, seems like some guys dont like them because of how they raise the center of gravity. We'll see how the bigger tires do.
Somehow even ended up with more flex

Good thing is motors are cheap, unless you upgrade to a Furitek sytem. But they are totally worth it.

I'm almost certain it will smoke on the next run. What furitek system do you recommend?

There's a brushless combo with metal trans on Aliexpress for $36. Its got great reviews on reddit but the motor can looks a little small to me. Don't know much about these tiny brushless systems

I run the furitek lizard pro w/ venom motor.

I seriously can't see the need for more power then that on 2s.

I got a little carried away with a hung up tire on my last run and completely wiped out the transmission.

That comes as a combo for 89.99 and has the app that lets you tune the living crap out of it. Pretty amazing.

You want anything with FOC (Field Oriented Control), it will change your life. Getting complete control at any speed is awesome. FOC enables you to keep a steady throttle pull, no matter what obstacle is in front of you. Basically it's giving you a constant steady torque.

This is my recommendation

Ooo I like the combo. Frees up some chassis space

Ill do a bit of research between these two plus the gouprc combo and get back on the thread with my findings
