Build Showcase Daughter's blue SCX24 Gladiator

This is nothing crazy. Just a basic, scale build. Working on making it a flex machine, with a little life, becuase it's what she wants

Very nice lookin jeep, before ya know it it will be a flexin machine, looks to have ok side hill on that new flex ramp. 51mm shocks will change its look night and day. Cool build cape crawlers would be proud. 🤘🏼👊🏼

Very nice. Blue gladiators look sweet built.

Don't get hung up on tons of flex.. one of my most capable rigs has literally no flex in the front. Its strapped down.
The rear has good flex, and thats the key.
Huge flex looks cool, but is less functional.

That's kind of what she is going for.

I am fighting that battle with her.
She cares more about looks than performance at this point.
I have some ideas what will give us a good compromise of what she will like looks and flex wise that I think sould keep the performance pretty decent

Some people are just into scale looks, other than performance, not a bad thing, just her thing. I would let her keep it like she wants. I have 5 step daughters, and that might be a loosing battle for ya.🤣😂 just saying. 😬

She is one of the most stubborn people you will ever meet. So I am going to tread lightly 🤣

So recognizable! My daughter has this 1/16 wpl and cares most about what cargo she can carry, she started building and weathering her own cargo. Which is also a brilliant hobby and I can of course only be proud about this. Maybe the love for RC grows later...

Did some more work on this last night.
Put a printed little yellow duck on the dash -

And, remember, we're going for the blue and yellow/gold them in honor of our local hockey team.
We put some Playmobil hockey equipment in the bed, a stick and Goalie pads. Want to get them in better eventuall
Also have a driver to get in there

Finally, put some 3D printed shock mounts on the rear. These are stock chassis mounts available on 24Yep.com

I had to trim/modify the rear ones to be able to mount the body. By trimming off the magnet mount part, I was able to still use the rear hinge mount.

I have to get the front ones on now. Originally, I thought I was going to have to butcher the ESC tray, but them I realized I can just print one that will work.

Hoping to maybe to that today

But we're also spending half a day at my local hobby shop well, it's about 1.5 hours away. - https://www.rctalk.com/forum/rc-hub/rc-addict.85/

I need to get some parts for my Toy Jeep body build - https://www.rctalk.com/forum/threads/becuase-i-needed-another-1-24-crawler-build.148351/

I put on a Ramp Crab servo - no pics.

I also put a new ESC tray on. Well, actually, I glued this one on top of the factory one. Gave more shock mounting locations

Also switched the front body mounts to magnets

Here's how it sits now

I have a driver to go in, and looking for one other little accessory. Also need to find or make some custom stickers
